The King Should Abdicate
If the King Arthur Pull-Apart Garlic Bread is any indication of his monarchy, then it's no wonder Guinevere preferred Sir Lancelot! The yeast was either old or ineffective, because the bread didn't rise much, and no matter how much I kneaded that dough, it didn't get soft and pull apart (more like force to break apart) and it didn't bake the way the picture on the package implied; the pieces of dough didn't rise together, they stayed apart and formed biscuits instead; the kind the army used to refer to as "hard tack". There was no expiration date on the package (not surprised) but since I ordered it online, I wouldn't have been able to check that out anyway, but I learned my lesson! I'll NEVER order anything King Arthur online again, and most likely not in the store, either.
