I purchased my KD Smart Chair over a year ago. It is one of the best buys I have ever made. It goes 7.5 miles on a path in the woods (loose sand and sticks and leaves) and 10 miles on cement walks or a hospital floor, before it needs to be charged up again. It has very sophisticated electronics. The panel flashes at you if you are overloading the motors because you went up too steep an incline or the outside summer temperatures are too high for cool running. All you have to do is stop moving and let the motors dissipate their heated condition and off you go again in a very short time. Some highly clever electronic engineers designed the battery and motor systems. It has one big design flaw. It doesn't like to be driven into pot holes or up a 1/2 inch curb lip. Because of the front caster wheels (which operate like a super market shopping cart design), it will come to a very abrupt halt(wheels turn inwards) and try to throw the rider forward onto the ground. Always wear the seat belt. Just back up out of the stuck condition and then proceed around it.
