I should have checked these reviews before purchasing the chair I did. There is another review saying the same exact issues that I have with it. I bought the chair that has the back and arms that can both fold down. It's a joke. It isn't a normal lever to put the chair back back. You have to pull it all the way forward and then all the way back and click it into position. And you cannot put it back more than a little because if you lean even a little off of center you will tip over. I've never tipped over in a chair before so it's not like I'm being crazy with it. I just lean over a little and I'm on the ground. The padding is non-existent and it's the main reason I bought it. It seems like this is a drop-shipped chair honestly. The base is cheap-feeling plastic. I was so excited for this chair and I was completely let down. It was not worth the 400 bucks I paid for it. Will never buy anything from them again. And yes it also took forever to be delivered, which is whatever, but I thought I would mention it.

My experience with Kaguyasu, I spent 20k back in Feb 2025, I was completely ripped off with the worst quality furniture I have ever seen, took them to NCAT, I won and they were ordered to refund me immediately on the 26/05/2026 but will not pay, I had to get an enforcement order from the local court which took more time and money and now I need to enforce it but they still won’t pay. This company is a Scam, they do not have an Australian office or company employees in Australia. They are ripping off Australians every day and getting away with it.

When I received my desk it was missing parts and I was unable to complete the assembly. The item I received is not as described on their website. Very deceptive. I contacted their support which can only be done by email, and they speak broken english which makes communication very difficult. I simply asked them to ship the missing parts & I supplied them with everything they needed for proof that I was missing parts and assembly couldn't be completed. A few emails were exchanged and then they stopped replying. Extremely bad communication and the items on their website is not a representation of what you'll receive. The quality of the materials from the desk suck too. I was really excited for this desk but Kaguyasu dropped the ball on both the product and customer service.

Bunch of garbage, I didn’t have high expectations but I thought that I give it a shot. Hardware is a complete junk, hinges, cam locks, handles are not even close from what is pictured. Boards are worst quality I have ever seen. Drawer holes for slides are not marked. Instructions good luck, just use your imagination and pictures from catalog.

Kaguyasu delivered the worst furniture-buying experience I have ever had. No instructions. Hardware thrown into one loose bag. Days wasted trying to get help. Then they sent a generic PDF in Chinese with picture-only diagrams that did not even properly match my desk and credenza. Some steps appeared reversed. It was a complete mess. I managed to assemble the desk through brute force and patience, but the credenza was so badly documented and so poorly supported that I gave up and threw it away. That is how bad this was. The packaging was excessive, wasteful, and ridiculous, but even that was not the worst part. The worst part was how completely unusable the assembly process was. I would never buy from Kaguyasu again, and I would strongly advise others not to.

I ordered a desk from them, two pieces arrived damaged and I have now spent a MONTH emailing them continuously (because they do not respond to phone calls) and they say basically nothing, answer no questions and from what I can tell kick you down the line enough that they hope you give up. I am a small business and cant afford to throw money away!

Our organization purchased 12 desks and two shelving units from Kaguyasu for our workspace. While the desks arrived and are currently usable, the overall quality is subpar compared to what was represented at the time of purchase. The desks also arrived without assembly instructions, which made setup unnecessarily difficult. After contacting the company about the issues, Kaguyasu acknowledged the concerns and offered to send a repair technician. We confirmed on February 10 that we would like to proceed with the repair service. However, since that confirmation we have received no follow-up communication regarding the technician, scheduling, or next steps. We sent a follow-up message on February 20 and are still waiting for a response. While the desks are functional, the quality concerns remain unresolved and the lack of communication regarding the promised repair service has been disappointing—especially given the size of the order for our workspace. We hope the company follows through on the repair service that was offered and improves its post-purchase customer support.

It appears this company filters out or removes negative reviews from their website and social media pages. If that is the case, potential customers deserve to know. Like many others, I relied on the glowing reviews and photos before purchasing a reception desk. That was a mistake I deeply regret. The company advertises a 6–8 week delivery timeframe. That representation is completely misleading. After I followed up, I was told my order would arrive at the end of February. As of March 2, I have now been told the item has only just shipped overseas by sea. That means the delivery timeline is stretching toward 12 weeks or more — nearly double what was advertised — and I still do not have a confirmed delivery date. There has been no tracking information provided. Communication has been unacceptable. Responses only come after repeated follow-ups, and the information given has been inconsistent and unreliable. If you are considering ordering from this company, understand that you may experience major delays, poor communication, and zero transparency. I strongly urge you to think carefully before giving them your money.
