Ponzi Scheme
Where to begin. Basically, the entire gig is a scam. I'd even argue that their conduct is criminal. In the first instance, contractors are misclassified. Because the service controls every aspect of the "Pal" barring few exceptions, each contractor is actually an employee, per statute. Nevertheless, there are many terms Pals are expected to adhere to. The policies are numerous and are mandatory. For one example, if a Pal cancels a visit with less than 24 hours notice, the Pal is penalized. Hiwever, it is routine for Papa to cancel visits without notice, many times after driving 90 miles or more to a member residence. Then, there is 90 miles on the return without any compensation to the Pal. On the other hand, members say that even though Papa keeps the money for the visit, they refuse to convey the visit compensation to the worker (Pal). In some instances the Pal may get $15 for the travel, despite the promise of bonuses often $50.00-75.00 and the for to six hours of the intended visit. The Pal is unable to even cover the fuel or time driving and no mileage is rewarded for the commute. Some states force Papa to pay for the commute, that is very rare and even in those cases, no compensation for time will be made. Tickets for any reason submitted by the Pal are ignored. Basically, Papa can care less, with a turn and burn business model. Papa routinely violates it's own terms of service, yet expects contractors to follow them to the latter whenever it suits Papa. It's one giant Ponzi scheme. I do not recommend.
