The entire intake process is just to judge acuity
The entire intake process is just to make sure you’re not any risk to them. The NP I saw, Abbe Walsh, didn’t read my intake paperwork, admitted that, had me go through my entire trauma history in ridiculous depth only to tell me that because of one low dose med I take she would have to consult with the lead NP to see if they could even take my case on. I don’t drink, I don’t do drugs, I’m not suicidal, I’m not manic or psychotic. Never have been. I have depression and anxiety. They are looking for the absolute “easiest” patients. Honestly, she would have known if she had bothered to read my intake paperwork that she wouldn’t take me. But she instead wasted an hour of my time and made me feel so judged. I sobbed. The most egregious part is that they did actual harm. They also refused to bridge my meds they knew I needed. That’s standard practice when discharging a patient. They refused to send a simple antidepressant. It’s clear this NP has very little psych experience. Avoid this practice. There are much better services out there. Edit: what’s wild is that they only responded to my complaint here in a public forum but never responded to my internal complaint they just discharged me. Beware.
