Warning: Annual plan traps you after 30 days—no prorated refunds
I signed up for Homebase's annual plan in March 2026. After using the service for six months, I requested a cancellation in September 2026. I explicitly asked only for a prorated refund for the remaining unused months, not a full refund for the time I actually used. Customer support completely denied this request. They informed me that you are locked into the contract after the first 30 days. Be warned if you are considering this software: while the annual commitment offers an initial discount, if you decide you are unsatisfied at any point after the 30-day mark, they will keep your money and you will lose your entire remaining annual fee. Proceed with caution.Version 2: Short & Punchy (Best for Google Play / App Store)Title: Hidden trap in the annual commitmentBe very careful signing up for their annual plan. I started in March 2026 and tried to cancel in September 2026. Even though I only wanted a prorated refund for the unused months ahead, support denied it. They lock you in completely after 30 days. If you find out the software doesn't fit your business long-term, you lose your entire annual fee. Not a customer-friendly policy.Version 3: Direct Warning (Best for Capterra)Title: Strict contract policy—no partial refunds for unused monthsI chose the annual plan in March 2026 for the discount, but when I needed to cancel in September 2026, Homebase refused to issue a prorated refund for the rest of my commitment. According to customer support, they enforce a strict 30-day cutoff line. After that, you are completely locked in. Any savings you think you get upfront are wiped out if you need to leave early, as they will pocket the remaining months of your fee.If you are ready to post, let me know if you would like me to adjust the tone to be harsher, or if you want to add the specific reasons why you were unsatisfied with the software to make it even more detailed.
Response from HomebaseSep 8, 2026
Jennifer, we're truly sorry for the frustration and confusion around this. Because the annual plan comes with a discounted rate, its refund policy does differ from our monthly subscription — but we never want anyone to feel misled about that going in. If the terms weren't made clear to you upfront, please reach out at support.joinhomebase.com/s/ to request a callback and we want to make this right. Thank you for being the best part of Homebase 💜
