RUN AWAY!!
I signed on with Heard at the end of 2021. Ended my relationship with them in 2022. At first, I thought this was going to be a godsend. I'm very anxious when it comes to taxes and bookkeeping. So, I felt relieved to have found heard. However, my experience quickly turned into a nightmare. Their communication is horrendous. As others have said, it takes them several days to respond to you in the portal. No, you cannot talk to anybody on the phone. Everything has to go through the portal. I would send messages over and over again and wait for them to respond to me. Also, my bank account will constantly be disconnecting from their portal. When it came time for my taxes, that was a hot mess experience. I was talking to several different people, having to send them things that I had already sent them, and on top of all of that, my taxes were late. They had to "file an extension on my behalf". When I let them know that I was going to be severing my relationship with them, I Detective an immediate dismissive attitude from them. Suddenly, even though it took them forever to respond, they were not willing to answer my questions even though I was still paying them for that last month. Whenever I hear other therapists saying that they are going to sign up with Heard, I reach out to them and tell them about my experience. Avoid Heard at all cost!
Response from HeardAug 21, 2023
Thank you for the review, Beverly. We're sorry to hear you felt the attention you received changed after you canceled last year. We feel very strongly about making sure clients who do regrettably leave Heard have a good experience and work hard to make the transition to another accountant as smooth as possible. As for the specific problems you encountered, these are issues we're actively working to address. We've already taken actions and we have additional improvements in progress. For example, responsiveness in conversations is so critical and we understand how important this is to our clients. We've recently reorganized our customer-facing team with responsiveness as the primary driver for those changes, and we've implemented a system of reporting and alerting designed to get our response times to be what our customers expect. In the month since those changes went live, we've seen our response times drop by 85% and we're not done. We've also already released a major update to the way we work with bank accounts to reduce the frequency with which accounts get disconnected. This week we also released a major change behind the scenes to how we do quarterly taxes. Finally, we have a major initiative underway to revisit how we handle annual taxes going into next year. Though we're disappointed that we didn't deliver the experience you expected, we are committed to continuously improving as a company. We appreciate you sharing your feedback with us and we hope someday you'll give Heard another look after we've addressed your concerns.
