I was told that my insurance was…
I was told that my insurance was accepted and my quoted copay would be about $30 per visit. But I was charged $1500 for about 6 visits that were 5 mins long. I wrote emails asking why I was being charged so much and I was told that my insurance was incorrect and this would be rectified, but I was still charged at least $300 per visit. Be Leary and check your payment statements frequently.

Hi there - if it were up to us, every patient would be seen for free. But unfortunately, we have to comply with the copays and deductibles determined by your insurance company. The way it works is that we ask your insurance company to estimate your out-of-pocket copay / deductible expenses before your appointment. That is usually accurate, but in some rare cases, your insurance company will send through a correction after we've already submitted your claim after your appointment. If the correction is for a lower amount, we'll immediately refund you the difference. But if the correction is for a higher amount, as in your case, we're forced to collect the addition amount your insurance company says you owe. Again, really sorry about this. It's an unfortunate reality of how the health system works in America, and we're working had to change that!
