Confirmed 135-Unit Dose With No Clear Administration Instructions
I am extremely dissatisfied with my recent experience with Amble Health, particularly with the clinical guidance—or lack of clinical guidance—surrounding my tirzepatide prescription. I had previously been instructed to take 10 mg at 68 syringe units weekly. My new prescription instructions suddenly changed to 13.5 mg at 135 units weekly. That is a major change in the amount of liquid I am being instructed to inject, yet I was given no meaningful explanation beforehand about how this was supposed to be administered. My syringes only hold 100 units. Therefore, when I saw instructions telling me to inject 135 units, I immediately contacted Amble because I did not know whether they expected me to take two injections, whether both injections were supposed to be given at the same time, or how they expected me to accurately administer the prescribed amount with the supplies they provided. Amble subsequently confirmed that the 135-unit instruction was correct, but that still did not answer the most important question: HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO ADMINISTER IT? I did not sign up for a program where I would suddenly be expected to give myself multiple injections without receiving clear instructions from a medical provider. When prescription medication and injections are involved, patients should not be left trying to figure this out themselves. I also raised concerns about injecting this volume subcutaneously at one time, including the possibility of medication leaking from the injection site or causing injection-site problems. Instead of receiving clear clinical guidance addressing those concerns and explaining exactly how the dose should be administered, I have continued to receive inadequate responses. This is what concerns me most about the entire experience. This is not simply a shipping problem or a customer-service inconvenience. This involves prescription medication and patient safety. If Amble changes a patient's dose, concentration, injection volume, or method of administration, there should be clear instructions from a qualified clinical professional explaining exactly what the patient is expected to do. Because of the way this was handled, I requested a refund. Amble has refused to refund my money. The only resolution they have offered is to pause my next shipment. Pausing another shipment does absolutely nothing to address the medication I already paid for, the lack of administration instructions, or my concerns about the clinical support I received. I had previously been happy with the program, which makes this even more disappointing. My confidence in Amble has been seriously damaged by the way this situation has been handled. I am requesting a refund and a meaningful response from Amble explaining why I was given instructions for 135 units without being provided the proper syringe or clear clinical directions explaining whether that amount should be administered as one injection or divided into multiple injections. Patients should never be left guessing about how to administer a prescription injectable medication.
