So, in fairness, I haven't yet received the dress I ordered, so I can't review the actual item, but their shipping terms are misleading and awful. I ordered an item midday on a Thursday, and paid $35 extra for "overnight shipping" because I have an event on Saturday. Now it's Friday evening and it hasn't arrived. When I contacted customer service they unapologetically told me that "overnight shipping" is actually 1-2 business days and, because I ordered on a Thursday, I won't get the dress until Monday afternoon. Obviously too late for my event.

I ordered the Kanako dress in S in Hollandia print to wear to a function. It was on sale, and was marked “final sale” which was not a problem for me since I own *four* velvet Kanako dresses in a size S, and they all fit well, are lined, and hang beautifully. The Kanako dress in S in Holland print arrived and it is too tight under the arms, it bunches up unattractively around the neckline because of the poor fit, it is completely unlined, did not ship with its own slip, and the silk it is made of is so sheer that it is see-through! I called Johnny Was four times about this issue, and left messages since no one answers the phone there, and no one has called back. I also wrote an email to Johnny Was customer care and no one has answered. In the past I could go to our local, excellent store, but that store was closed last year or early this year and so there is only online “support” which means, apparently, no support at all. I have bought this brand for years, from the local store, from Johnny Was dot com, and from department stores such as Bloomindale’s and Saks. This will be my last purchase of this brand. For such luxury pricing one would expect some customer service from Johnny Was, but now even Saks gives better customer service, and that is saying a lot about how poor the service at Johnny Was dot com is. I’m done with this brand and will shop at Eileen Fisher from now on.

I recently purchased a Jolie polo styled dress on sale for 125.00. It looked beautiful in the pictures. I have about 10 or 12 outfits from them that were expensive but beautiful! I got this item that has a stamped type design and no embroidery. It did’t say that in the description! The fabric is like a nightshirt and it is a final sale!! I am so disappointed. For that price even on sale I could get an embroidered dress from Coldwater Creek or Soft Surroundings. I will never buy anything from them without seeing them in their stores or returnable. 😞

I am so disappointed in Johnny Was, deteriorating quality on last 3 orders received and due to items purchased on sale they are not returnable. This is unacceptable. In addition, I purchased a dress, again horrid quality and returned the item next day. They received the item over a month ago, using their label and they have not refunded me. It's been over 30 days, no refund. These business practices are unacceptable.

Ordered $300+ blouse. Trying to check status and when it is shipping. Johnny Was gave wrong order number, can't check. Called customer service, no one answers or responds, no one does their job! FRUSTRATION AND AGGRAVATION ~ this shop should treat customers better ~ their merchandise is no cheap change!!!!

Customer service cared about my review and I was replaced my original item, no charge. Thankful for their cooperation and customer service. I purchased a swimsuit recently, and on my first wear, the suit fabric started to fuzz. Very disappointed in the quality. Customer service was also a letdown. They refused to do anything but give me a 20% off coupon for my next purchase. Will not be purchasing any thing from this company again.

Johnny Was has the most beautifully designed clothes, the intricacy of the embroidery is amazing. The clothes feel like soft air. The fit is perfect. I’m so happy with my selections. The website works flawlessly and my items arrived very quickly.

I received what will be my last order from Johnny Was. I feel foolish for being duped more than once. Over the past year I’ve ordered a number of items even though each order was disappointing. I was sucked in by the beautiful presentation of items online. This recent order revealed contents of such low quality they bear little resemblance to the items pictured on the website. In fact, I found myself wondering if there are oversight bodies who check that what vendors advertise their products as being made from actually contain those materials. For instance, one blouse I received is supposed to be 100% silk. There must be a number of quality variations with silk because what I was sent feels unlike any silk garment I have ever worn over my 65 years on this planet. It’s rough, drapes poorly, and certainly is no candidate for a representative of that material. There are too many wonderful offerings out there worthy of higher price points. Johnny Was is not among them.
