DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT JINS
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT JINS! I had the absolute worst experience of my life with them. I have been wearing glasses for 30 years and have made them in several countries around the world — never had any issues. With JINS, the first time they messed up my prescription and I couldn't focus, they apologized and ordered a second pair, which was still not okay, as I couldn't focus far, only near. They wasted one hour of my time trying to fix the frame. In the end, they apologized again and again ordered a new pair of glasses. When the third pair of glasses came and I tried them, I told them it was weird — I could focus very well at the center, but as soon as I moved my eyes, everything became blurry. The staff told me to get used to turning my head to look at the sides and not my eyes. UNBELIEVABLE! I decided to try the new glasses for a couple of days anyway, just in case I simply needed to get used to them. After 2 days of strong headaches, I went back to JINS and told them that after making 3 pairs of glasses and wasting so much time, I was fed up and I just wanted a refund. They told me that they don't give refunds and started pushing me to make a fourth pair of glasses. I told them I didn't want to, and instead of listening to what the customer was saying, they ignored me, spoke between themselves, and then took me to do another eye exam to order the new glasses. I was confused and asked them why they were doing another eye exam, and they said they wanted to confirm the prescription for a new pair of glasses. I told them again I didn't want to order a new pair. They ignored me again and continued with the exam, at which point I got really angry and told them to stop and listen to me: I DID NOT WANT TO ORDER ANOTHER PAIR OF GLASSES! I had to ask many times for a refund, and they kept saying they don't offer refunds. In the end, after wasting almost again an hour at their store, the glasses were refunded, but I still lost money because of international currency conversion fees, and all the time I have spent going back and forth, talking to their staff, trying new glasses, etc. I contacted JINS customer support to give them a chance to take responsibility and offer a real solution — like a complimentary new pair of glasses made properly, which is something most shops would do after their staff treated their customers so badly. Instead, they just offered empty apologies and said, “We will try to do better next time.” That is completely unacceptable. Their staff was way over the line — saying I should get used to turning my head to look left and right instead of moving my eyes, ignoring me when I told them repeatedly that I didn't want a new pair of glasses, and offering empty apologies instead of taking responsibility for the ineptitude of their service. I strongly advise others to think twice before trusting JINS with their money and vision needs. There are many other, proper glasses stores in Japan. Do yourself a favour and avoid the stress and anger I felt.
