JetPens.comReviews of jetpens.com

Good selection but their international shipping is abysmally slow. I order a lot from the USA and have never had orders arrive this slow. I’ve made multiple orders but won’t order any more from them since it just takes forever to arrive. (Europe)

I used to order from this store many years ago and recently decided to give them another shot. To my shock, a glass bottle of ink was packaged with thin bubble wrap around it and then placed in a bag. It arrived intact but could have easily been broken. Glass bottles of ink need to be packaged in boxes, not flimsy bubble mailers. One of the notebooks I received was also roughed up...since they went to the trouble of wrapping cling film around the notebooks they had to have seen the damage. Don't get me wrong, I like this store and they sell a lot of great items. Unfortunately it seems like they are cutting corners in recent years. I would never purchase an expensive item from this shop after my recent experience and reading some of the other stories here.

I have purchased a couple of times from Jetpens. I love the options that are available, for ink, pens, refills. I unfortunately just had an exceptionally disappointing experience. I ordered a refill for the Kaweco ballpoint pen. I double checked the refill i had with my pen before purchasing the refills and I double-checked the return policy 3 times before purchasing. After purchasing the refills they are too big for my pen and was looking to exchange. After attempting to work with customer service, they continued to direct me to their return policy, stating, "We try our best to mention it in our return policy here," and redirected me back to their return policy. I copied their return policy and stated it is not clear and still will not cover shipping. I recommended providing something clear in returns: "Customer is responsible for returned shipping," which was ignored. I have found this to be a very frustrating experience and plan to purchase elsewhere from now on.

I received the wrong item… the only reason I spent money there was to order this particular pen. Their ordering system to choose individual colors isn’t user-friendly, but I know what I put in my cart because I matched the number. Looking at their reviews, I’m not the only one with the same issue. Customer service was condescending and unhelpful. I won’t buy from here again. I’d rather support a business who is kind.

A very nice range of products - not any better than many other sites - and the company demonstrates zero interest in reducing the amount of non-recyclable plastic packaging when shipping my orders. I've requested several times over the years to stop using yards and yards of plastic wrap, bubble pack and other non-recyclable plastic for packaging my order and their response continues to be: "we will pass along your concern". I will no longer purchase items from JetPens since I can shop with other pen companies that use recyclable materials to package their orders.

Slow to ship

Poor shipping practices, great website. There is a ton of useful and educational content. It is a superbly organized website. Prices are reasonable. They opt to use the UPS shipping service that passes the package to USPS, where shipments end up taking as long as 10 days compared to their competitors. They responded that it takes them 1-4 days to fulfill the orders due to the volume of orders they receive and then the shipping time. Wow. If that is true, their competitors could teach them a thing or two about fulfillment as their competitors manage to ship the order out in 24 hours (M-F).

JetPens uses an excessive amount of cling film and bubble wrap plastic when packaging an order. I've asked them multiple times to stop using plastic when packing up my order but they refuse to switch to paper. I recommend using Goulet Pens and St. Louis Art Supply instead for fountain pen and stationary supplies
