IXL is ruining schools and minds.
This website is disgustingly accepted among teachers and schools. As the website states "At IXL Learning, we are passionate about improving learning for all. We apply technology in thoughtful and innovative ways to unlock learners' innate curiosity, creativity, and desire for knowledge." This is false and a total lie as a eighth grader IXL I have had to use this app many times. IXL states that it helps students grow, that's weird because that's a lie too. Growing is leaning and adapting from mistakes. IXL trains young minds with their "smart score" (its not smart) It introduces the idea of "No mistakes Allowed" but that's not growing, that's corrected reptation speaking from experience at first a correct answer will give 19-20 points (goal is 80-100 points depending on teachers) get on wrong 4-5 point loss. Not so bad right. but later on at 60-70 points but one wrong uh oh your down 10-12 points. There's no learning from that. And to put a sweet black cherry on the cheese cake it doesn't teach students like me will just use google to get away from using IXL, its not our fault everything else we use on our own, IXL is its own case. And there is many more examples but il stop here, so if you hate IXL its not your fault.
