Genuine hatred from the bottom of my heart
I hate nothing more in this world than IXL. As someone who genuinely loves learning this seems meticulously designed to do make you hate it. My teacher makes us get 100 smartscore. Help.

DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE EVER This is the WORST thing you can do to your children or students. The IXL platform actively destroys student morale by functioning as a grueling digital sweatshop that replaces actual teaching with endless, soul-crushing drills. Its algorithmic scoring behaves like a psychological trap, wiping out extensive progress for a single typo and driving children to tears of pure frustration. Ultimately, it behaves less like an educational tool and more like an automated instrument of academic torture that kills curiosity and rewards robotic compliance.

I hate this app. When you get a problem correct your "smartscore" goes up by 5. When you get it wrong, your score goes down by 10. At this point i would rather write a 10 page essay than do 2 ixls.

**Dear IXL,** I genuinely have no idea what you did to deserve this much hatred from me, but somehow you managed to turn answering math questions into one of the most miserable experiences known to humanity. IXL is not a learning platform. It is a digital punishment disguised as education. You answer 47 questions correctly, feel like you're finally making progress, and then you make ONE mistake. Suddenly your score falls off a cliff like your entire academic career just ended. Congratulations, IXL. You have successfully made a correct answer feel worthless. And let's talk about the questions. Why are there so many? Who decided that students need to answer approximately 900 questions about the same topic before they are allowed to leave? At some point, I'm not learning anymore. I'm just clicking buttons and questioning every decision that led me to this website. The worst part is when you're almost finished. You can practically taste freedom. You're sitting there thinking, "Finally, I'm done." Then IXL hits you with another question, and another, and another. It feels like the assignment has a personal vendetta against me. IXL also has a special talent for making simple topics unnecessarily annoying. Something that could take two minutes to explain with a normal teacher somehow becomes an endless interrogation where I have to prove that I understand the concept 38 different times. Honestly, IXL has accomplished something impressive: it has made me look forward to literally any other assignment. Give me a worksheet. Give me a textbook. Give me a 20-page essay. I would rather do almost anything than open IXL and see that terrifying little progress bar. So, dear IXL, I hope you're proud of yourself. You've taken education, added frustration, repetition, and an unnecessarily dramatic scoring system, and somehow turned it into a website students dread seeing in their assignments. I don't hate many websites. But you? You are special. **Sincerely, Someone who just wants to be done with IXL**
