One of the most frustrating, protracted experiences
Getting my sons first passport has been one of the most disappointing, prolonged, frustrating things I've ever had to do!! Submitted all relevant documents, phoned to confirm received and all ok. You never get an actual helpful answer .. just a generic 'we've received the forms, you'll now have to wait'. What I was told would take 4 - 6 weeks, forms sent back, then asked to resubmit another identity verification, so sent my sons school. As they waited so long it was then school holidays and the school did not answer so they were unable to confirm my sons identity. The result after 4 months of back and forth, many phone calls, usually number 30 or 40 in the queue.... they then rejected his application and asked for everything to be resubmitted!! No logic, no phone back, just making a simple process as protracted and difficult as possible. It's insane really in this day and age and no wonder there are long delays when one application takes so long and so much back and forth to actually process.
