We bought our first timeshare with II in 1991. We bought our second in 1999. We loved it for years and years. But we’re not sure what is going on now. Every single year II shaves off more and more of our favorite locations. We are so limited now we can’t find anyplace to exchange.
Additionally, since there are fewer and fewer owners, they are renting out the shares by the night, so it’s no different than being in a hotel. Security is about gone. Everyone and anyone can come in. Non-residents are continually coming into the pool area who are not even staying. Teenagers are coming in and partying loudly late at night. Security does not seem to care.
The Units are dated and run down. The washing machines are broken. The furniture and decor are old and dated. Our TV gave out because it was so old. I’m not sure what to do. It appears they are heading in a new direction away from selling shares. We feel stuck.

on the phone about 3 hours… BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD
I have been on the phone about 3 hours over 3 calls to use this scheduling for the first time ever. I will NOT deposit any points or use again. The process is not convenient customer focused. I have far more access and value with my current program, BUT the reason I left a one star review is: yesterday as I was scheduling the week that I’d work so hard to finally find, I had to give my Credit credit card and I thought it was odd. They had a credit card on file with the wrong expiration. Because that would never have been what I stated it would never have worked in the past so I then repeated my credit card number and I had a terrible feeling deep inside….. I couldn’t explain it cause I use American Express and I’ve never had a problem but exactly 24 hours later. I have a fraud alert. It is a blessing that I’ve not experienced any fraud in the last five years with American Express, but I just felt it in the voice, the tone and the activity so for whatever it’s worth I had a hunch yesterday I would be dealing with this and now I have to replace my credit card.

Hace años daban un buen servicio y hoy en día priman los beneficios en contra de la atención.

Learn it & you will love it!
We have been using Interval International as part of our Marriott timeshare for years. If you take the time to learn how it works, Interval can offer amazing, cost effective resorts.
A few tips for getting the most of your membership:
*Know that inventory changes regularly; what you see today might look different in 2 weeks. The most successful users regularly check inventory to snag the best resorts!
*Understand that Exchanges have better inventory than Certificates; check inventory on both to maximize the value of each.
*Sometimes you might have to let a certificate expire if there is no inventory that aligns to your travel plans.
*You can book using a certificate for someone else if you put them as a guest (fee or free guests depending on your membership level); example: Orlando always has a ton of availability for certificates; we almost always can find someone going to Orlando and will let them use the amazing certificate offer. 7 days for ~$399 is a fantastic price!
*Be willing to book WAY in advance or very last minute as that is often the two windows with the best inventory.
*As a member, you have access to Getaways, which are also well priced!
Pros:
Interval has a very very large inventory globally; you can go almost anywhere
The prices are generally very competitive
The majority of resorts offered are fantastic, but always do your research
Interval always is upfront about pricing and fees. You must read thoroughly so you are not surprised about resorts fees, taxes, etc.
Support is excellent. They are easy to reach (800 #) and the CSR’s are patient, knowledgeable and friendly.
Cons:
The app and website is a bit dated and can be buggy. They have made some recent updates that have made it a little better. But you’ll need some patience to navigate.
The concept of depositing weeks, doing an exchange, using a certificate etc is not obvious; you will have to take the time to learn how it all works.
It is not recommended for All Inclusive resorts: generally the price is higher than a bundle that includes airfare on another platform (like Cheap Caribbean). There are a few exceptions in Cancun where I found the price to be competitive.
Overall, we have been very pleased with our experience with Interval. We have been able to travel to Hawaii, Austria, Cancun, Breckenridge, Lake Tahoe and dozens of other places using our membership. After our timeshare fees, membership fees, etc, the average price per night is $109. You can’t touch a resort of this caliber for that price. So yes, definitely worth it!

ANSWER THE PHONE!!!
C'mon Marriott/Interval! Can you please hire some agents to answer the phones here. I have called three times this week. The first two, I waited over 2 minutes each and had to hang up. I am on my third call now, and here I sit 54 minutes later with still no answer. And all I'm trying to do is deposit a week. And before you tell me, "You can do that online"...No, I can't. Because the system has my deposit week locked in as a Studio. But, I have reserved a 2-bedroom unit with my resort to deposit. So, the last thing I'm going to do is use your online system to make the deposit, and only get credit for a Studio when it cost me twice as many points for the 2-bedroom.

Absolutely terrible customer service!
Absolutely terrible customer experience.
The website is incredibly confusing and difficult to use, especially when trying to use deposited points. The process is not intuitive at all, and there is very little clear guidance on what can or cannot be done.
What made the experience even worse was the customer service. I spoke with two different customer service agents, and both were equally rude and unhelpful. Instead of feeling supported, I felt talked down to for being confused by a system that is unnecessarily complicated in the first place.
For a company dealing with expensive vacation ownership and deposited points, the experience should be transparent and customer-friendly. Instead, it feels frustrating, outdated, and far more difficult than it needs to be.
I would not recommend depositing points through Interval International based on my experience.

I wish I could give less than 1 star
If there was a way to give less than 1 star, I would give it -100. I'm a platinum member with them, and I absolutely regret wasting that money with them. Customer service is absolutely worst. I swear they purposely go around in circle when you ask a question, even the simplest one, just so you get upset and hang up

I traded our lockout unit from our home resort in Hawaii for a short stay in Las Vegas.
I traded our lockout unit at a lovely timeshare in Hawaii for a week with Interval International.I utilized the short stay for three days and payed $179.00 in reservation fees. I then added three more days within a short period of time because I was told that a short stay could be up to 6 days. I first checked the availability tyo make sure that I could extend the stay. Interval went ahead a started a new reservation and charged me another $179.00. I now had two reservations for the same resort in Las Vegas. This caused total confusion for the resort requiring six calls from them to verify that they were short stays because of the two reservations. One of the reps said that she learned something new because their reservations were based on weeks. In retrospect, I should have just exchanged the entire week. When we arrived at the resort, we had the same problem. The staff spent another half hour, while we waited talking to the manager about the two separate reservations. We then had an issue with changing rooms because of the two reservations and it took another half hour to straighten that out. The resort was lovely, however did not compare to our trade in Hawaii. It did not have a walk in shower but a bath tub to climb over and I wasted so much time straightening the reservation issue that we made do. Both the resort and I were wondering why they did not put my 6 days on one reservation instead of causing all that trouble and also, where is my seventh day? All this to collect another $179.00. I am not mentioning the name of the resort because they were not at fault for this inconvenience.
