We are moving overseas. My wife called this company for a quote and instead of them explaining how it was all going to work, the sales guy simply pressured her for 2k on our credit card. He said that they were “at capacity” and that we needed to pay now to “reserve a spot”. B’bye! Goes to show that even though the CEO seems has such an inspirational story, it doesn’t always translate to good customer service. By the way, they do 80% shipping in the USA. So much for “international”.

Horrible customer service!
Horrible customer service!! they lost out on $35,000 and I got my deposit back for failure to take care of the customer as stipulated in the contract. So USE It to your advantage if needed! Moving from Asia, the Philippine customs demanded a notarized letter from me before they would allow me to ship my PERSONAL HOUSEHOLD GOODs. Pure ignorance but I told IVL to type up a PROFESSIONAL letter for them and I would take it and have it notarized and signed. Easy yes?? LOL not for these monkeys. 1 st Nico refused, so I asked for his boss, he lied and said he doesn't have 1. Then Jason jumps in the conversation says its illegal for them to type a letter.. AGAIN another lie. Show me an owner, president or boss who types their own letters. It's the secretary or ??? . SO i demanded my deposit back and he refused so I said, u are in breach of contract my attorney will deal with u. 3 days later I got my FULL deposit. Suggestion, this is a company that obviously does not care that it loses money, so there4 obviously does not care about customer support. GOOD LUCK

Total Con
I used this company. On moving day they demanded 6000 more than their binding estimate. Since you have paid 25% upfront and it is no refundable, little choice, classic bait and switch. Once they got your money your calls go to voicemail. Burn you furnature in a non fire rather than use this company.

Ghastly situation
Ghastly situation. They require cash or postal money orders for the final payment and the driver did not give a receipt to my son. Yes, I know he should have asked, but it shouldn't be hard to get afterwards. They will not respond to my voice messages or emails. Without the final receipt I can't get reimbursed.

Do Not Trust IVL with Your Home Move…
the initial process of working through the move, household inventory, etc. with IVL rep Sylvester, was smooth and reasonable, which is why we decided to book our cross country move with them. That's where the good ended and trouble began. IVL subbed out the job to Y&O Movers DBA IVL. The packers arrived not on friday as expected, but Saturday. They wanted an additional $5k to do the job and threatened to leave otherwise. I called the IVL rep as instructed and was told that they did not want to do the job "under duress" and would be happy to leave. As anyone who has moved knows, when you have to be out of your house in 2 days, scheduling another mover was not going to be possible. This was extortion and they know it. My household was packed over 2 days, moved into a storage facility, held there, and then loaded onto a semi truck to head east. Undisclosed to me initially, there were other clients belongings on the same truck and mine was the last to arrive. Upon arriving at my new home, the driver insisted on another additional funds of $1500 on the spot to unpack. Many items were discovered to be broken due to the poor handling / packing of my goods. a handmade teak side table was destroyed. many crystal Waterford glasses broken. vases. dining room table gouged. antique buffet scratched and gouged... and the platters that had been in my buffet were never delivered. Working through the company to be reimbursed has proved futile. I would NEVER recommend this company.

Save yourself the hassle and money
Somehow (buying reviews?) this company has many 5-star reviews. DO NOT TRUST THEM!! Or the good reviews you read on so many moving websites. Seriously, how this company got so many websites to rank them highly is just beyond me. Here's my story:
I got quotes from four different companies. They were the only ones who didn't come out to do an actual inventory (red flag 1 - unfortunately, I knew none of these red flags at the time). They came in lowest, so I hired them. They asked me to send one of the inventories I'd gotten from one of the other movers, which I did, and they gave me an updated estimate (still lower than the others). I also asked, before I made a commitment, about time limits as I was willing to ship my items earlier to get them there in a reasonable amount of time. The saleswoman said that it would probably take 7-10 days (cross country) and that picking up early wasn't necessary. They take a 40% deposit at hire (red flag 2). I updated my inventory twice before move (as I was still getting rid of stuff during packing), and they gave me an updated estimate.
Come moving day, somebody other than IVL shows up (red flag 3) in a Budget truck (red flag 4). The guy looked at my apartment and said that, based on his "20 years of experience," I had 450 cubic feet, but he would do me a favor and only charge me for 431 cubic feet, which happened to be the footage on my first estimate. (Oh, red flag 5 - they go by cubic feet, not weight. The salespeople will try to upsell you on this, but you can't have them weigh afterwards to make sure that they're not overcharging you!) So the movers IVL hired didn't honor their binding estimate. This ended up costing me ~$400 more than their estimate. (I took pictures of the paperwork when the movers dropped my stuff off. They had my load at 300 cubic feet. This would have been a price difference of over $1000.)
I emailed IVL after arriving in my new location (6 days after pickup). I was told the following day that my stuff still hadn't left the warehouse and it could take them up to 21 business days (read: ~4 weeks to deliver). This is all in their paperwork, and if you call them out, they'll say, You had it in writing, but as my sister said, this is basically them saying, Don't trust a thing we tell you. (Seriously. Don't.) I continued following up with them, eventually asking them to call instead of email because I wanted to have an actual conversation. When she did call (3 days later), she was incredibly angry that I wanted to, you know, actually speak to the people to whom I'd given 90% of my belongings and a not insignificant amount of money. She then finally told me my stuff would be packed the following week (4 weeks after pickup and 3 weeks after my first available delivery date).
My stuff finally arrived over 2 weeks after it was originally shipped (6 weeks after it was picked up). They lost two of my chairs and my dining room table. Oh, and they're supposed to pay me for the late shipment. ($20 a day, and they reneged about what the first late day was. All of this was rather insulting.) My stuff was delivered 30 days ago and I still haven't gotten a check.
If you're still with me, maybe you have an idea of what waiting for your things will feel like if you go with IVL. Save yourself the hassle (and money when you have to replace your things and get upcharged) and go with a better company.

Awful Company!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
I truly think this company should be out of business; they are fully swindling people. It should be illegal. I wish I had paid more attention to the negative reviews, of which there are many; if you pay attention, you'll notice that everyone has the same issues. I don't know if the positive reviews are paid for, although I do know for sure some of the positive articles on the internet are fully paid for and not based on fact. This is a phenomenally awful company, and it was a terrible experience all around.Everything negative everyone else says happened to me, and it was horrible.
Working with them was a truly awful experience, and I am so disappointed with how much money we ended up having to pay them for the terrible job they did, but most of all for all the lies and misinformation all along the way. Also, still having to pay for items they lost is shocking to me, as well as having to pay for items that I watched one of the delivery drivers drop from 6 feet in the air off the tailgate of the truck, shattering an entire box of vintage dishes. Even after filing a claim, I was offered $62 total for this amazing experience (I paid almost $10,000 when all was said and done). You also have to have the claim settlement notarized, so unless your bank does that for free, deduct an additional fee from your measly settlement for that process.
Diego, who initially booked the job for me, flat out lied every step of the way. For example, since we were moving a little over a week before Christmas (from Los Angeles to Oregon, about 900 miles), one of my very first questions was if there was any potential that the delivery would be delayed with the holidays. He assured my that since this is such a close move, the only reason for any delay would be if we weren't in Oregon to receive the items, but otherwise we'd receive our delivery within a few days. This was not the case at all, and in the end, we waited almost 4 weeks for our delivery.Another thing I asked was if any of the work is contracted out or if our stuff is removed from the pickup truck and put elsewhere between delivery or on a different delivery truck. He assured me that they do all their own work without contracting it out. This is a complete lie. The truck that came to pick up our stuff was a Budget rental truck. The delivery dispatch company is a different company, Y&O Moving (doing business as IVL), and the delivery driver and team were from an entirely different company contracted out by the intermediary dispatch company. Diego also assured me that once on the truck from pickup, my items would be there until delivered to me in Oregon, stating that the only way they'd have to be moved into a storage facility is again, if we were unavailable to receive the delivery. Again, this was a complete lie. I later found out that all of our stuff was moved off the truck and stored in a facility in CA for multiple weeks before being loaded onto a delivery truck, then unloaded and reloaded to yet another truck a week and a half later, and once again moved from the delivery truck to a shuttle truck, which I confirmed three times with the dispatch coordinator at Y&O was not needed, she assured me she confirmed this with the driver, but my delivery showed up in different truck, resulting in another over $800 I had to pay this ridiculous company.I was meticulously detailed with my inventory, even including measurements, and yet on the day of the pickup, I removed over 17 boxes from the the items we were moving, and yet I ended up paying over $1500 more than what I was quoted based on the cubic feet of my original inventory. They also forced me to use some of their boxes for liability reasons, saying they didn't want anything to break...this was an additional $550, and yet one of the things they packed was lost...an entire coffee table, not sure how that happened. They say you'll be provided a delivery estimate upon pickup of your items. This never happened. I never got an estimate, no one ever contacted me, but they also ignored my calls and emails asking for any information whatsoever. Carlina, who was supposedly our dispatch coordinator, never responded to any of my calls or emails except once after I'd finally reached the dispatch coordinator at Y&O Moving. I continued to reach out to Carlina multiple times after this with absolutely no response. After many calls to Y&O with no information or delivery estimate, I was told my stuff was being loaded on a Monday or the following morning, and I'd have an email follow up that evening. I heard nothing from them until I finally was able to get them on the phone again on Thursday, at which point they told me there was a delay with the truck. Almost two weeks later, my items were delivered.
They should not be allowed to operate a business in such a shady and deceitful way.

Don't use this "moving company."
Don't use this "moving company." Took nearly 14 months for a small shipment to arrive in Germany from US. Half of the shipment was lost, appeared months later in the UK, and took another two months to get to Germany. In US, packers showed up in an Enterprise Rent-a-Truck, all nice guys but only one had ever packed things before, and I had to show them how to do it. Once packed up, the company was quick to bill me for the entire shipment, but never, or only weeks or months after me repeatedly asking them, responded to my queries about the location of my effects and their likely shipment date. Including this company, which appears to be nothing more than a broker operation, I dealt with at least four other companies, all of which have their own rules, and didn't always deliver the service that I paid the "moving company" for. I've moved many times over the years and can tell the difference between a professional operation and fly-by-night jobs. Avoid this company.
