Unfortunately they do not take care of you, you mess up once and your banned from working for almost 2 weeks. Not reliable work at all. The extra cash you make takes about 10 days too. Also so actual person when you need help all is AI generated!

0 STAR Don't waste your time. Don't give them your data. Instawork took 5 hours of my life and gave me absolutely nothing in return. I signed up because they advertise bartender and elite event server work paying real hospitality rates. I'm not some random person with no experience. I submitted manager recommendations, a full CV, verified service experience, completed my profile, uploaded everything they asked for, and jumped through every hoop they put in front of me. Then came the onboarding BS: 1) A 1.5-hour chatbot "interview." 2) Photo verification that had me retake the same picture FOUR TIMES because their bot couldn't figure out black clothes against a white background. 3) More forms. 4) More uploads. 5) More wasted time. Five hours later my profile was complete. And what did their amazing matching system find for me? Cleaner and janitor shifts more than 30 miles outside Austin paying around $14/hour. Fu.K THAT Instcrap! At that point I honestly stopped caring whether the algorithm is broken, incompetent, or just doesn't care. The result is the same. No bartender work., or event work; No opportunities matching my experience. Just irrelevant garbage crap. And before the company pastes another canned response about how this is "not typical," let's address that now, the same way they did on google reviews, let us anticipate their crap answer: Your response completely missed the point; You didn't explain the 1.5-hour chatbot. You didn't explain why photo verification failed four times. You didn't explain why someone with a hospitality background was being offered janitor shifts. You didn't explain why five hours of onboarding produced zero relevant opportunities. Instead you told me to contact support through the app. Yeah, the same app I already said I deleted. Which tells me one of two things: 1) Either nobody actually read my review. 2) Or nobody cared enough to understand it. Neither option makes your company look any better, but looks like SHIT. I deleted my profile. Go to hell instacrap

I worked for this company and unfortunately had an extremely disappointing experience. The biggest issues were the lack of communication, poor directions, disorganization, and the way employees were treated. I accepted a shift at approximately 12:30 a.m. for a shift that was scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. I traveled approximately two hours each way using public transportation specifically to report for this shift. Despite making the trip and arriving as scheduled, I was turned away and was unable to clock in because of an alleged geofencing issue. I was then sent home and was not paid for the four hours I was scheduled to work. Communication throughout the entire situation was extremely poor. The other employee and I attempted to contact the supervisor more than 15 times and left two messages, but we never received an answer or a callback. We were essentially left without any guidance or assistance. There were also issues with the instructions provided for the shift. We were told to wear a white shirt, and both the other employee and I went out of our way to purchase the required attire specifically for this assignment. We were later told that the company did not know why the instructions stated that we needed to wear a white shirt. This was another unnecessary expense and inconvenience caused by poor communication. I was also not allowed to use the bathroom during the shift, which was extremely concerning and unacceptable. After the incident, my account was suspended. I spoke directly with a human representative who told me that my suspension would be lifted immediately. Three days later, my account was still suspended. At this point, after everything that happened, I have no desire to work for the company again. What made the situation even more frustrating was that the company later contacted me asking for proof that I had been present and the supervisor’s name. I had already provided both the proof of my attendance and the supervisor’s name in my previous message. This gave me the impression that my original complaint had not even been fully read before they responded. This experience was not limited to me either. Another employee experienced the same issues and was also affected by the company’s lack of communication and organization. Employees should not have to travel two hours by public transportation to a scheduled shift only to be turned away, unable to clock in, and then struggle to receive the pay they were scheduled to earn. Clear communication, accurate instructions, proper support, and basic consideration for employees should be expected from any company. Overall, this experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I hope the company takes these complaints seriously and makes significant improvements to its communication, scheduling, employee support, and handling of payment issues. If I could have gave them zero stars I would have.

after taking ridiculous quiz's and phone interviews, you are ready to book a job/gig.....nope.. they promise you guaranteed compensation if the company cancels the shift last minute or if you cancel before your upcoming shift you will have consequences..... so after booking a job, many harassing texts and hoops to jump through to confirm the shift...instawork will remove you from job for a background check the day before...leaving you with no option but to wait up to 10 days until it clears. so what was the point of booking/ the follow ups repetitively, the text and app saying i was all clear, i took screen shots of all of it and will daily turn it into the bbb and ftc...i passed up other job opportunities including my regular job. i should be compensated for the 5 hours of tasks, quizes, calls, texts and guaranteed work. and customer service is a joke

Signed up, did all the “tests” and sent pictures of my available uniforms for bartending/catering, got “approved” a week or so later. FINALLY booked a job, only to get a notification that my background check was still in progress. My background check had been cleared for two weeks waiting for them to approve my pictures of my uniform (ai approval, very flawed, had to ask my own ai to edit pics of my perfectly good uniform, so also beware employers) Anyway, wouldn’t let me go to the first shift I was finally offered and I got a “no show” ding for it. THEN they submitted that I was employed with them, despite not making a dime from them. And the state of Utah cancelled my SNAP benefits just because Instawork said I worked there, despite making it nearly impossible to actually work. Not to mention the never ending, “we are experiencing higher than usual volume. I signed up 9 WEEKS AGO and have never got an actual person besides “finch” to help me. 0/10

Hi, The Instawork app is not bad but I feel like you give the captains way too much power. Captains Charisse and Kimberly were very unfair to me, they treated me unfairly and targeted me and adjusted my time incorrectly, every one has problems with them. Also, sometimes the gigs have wrong information. Sometimes they say no free parking when there is parking, sometimes they say a meal and break will be provided and there’s none provided etc. Sometimes some of the businesses don’t treat us well as well etc so yeah. I sent a report about the captains as well so I’m hoping that you guys actually do something about it. So yeah. Thank you. Smh.

Stay away from InstaWork. I've had a few OK shifts at best. But mostly they just seem to cancel, promise you pay, then don't pay you. I had a job for the 2nd of Sept which was cancelled by the business but I was told since they cancelled within 24hrs I would still be paid for 4 hours. Sounds great, 8 worked would have been better but hey not too shabby right? So I wait a week, see nothing reflected in my earnings, I reach out to support, wait 4 more days to get a real person to respond and they tell me that the company has a 6hr cancellation policy. As you can see from the screenshots this is not what is communicated to the employee nor what is set up in their system. Confident that once they see the information they are telling me that they will fix it, I sign up for a few more jobs. I go out to one; client isn't even ready for us to be at that location... OK no big deal mistakes happen... I reach out to support for resolution and they actually do set me up for the 4 hour cancellation pay. Fine, again 8 would be better but it is what it is. Go to today the 15th, job for the 16th is cancelled by the business (9hrs before the shift again). I get the same indication that because the business cancelled within 24hrs I'll be paid for 4. This time I actually see that the earnings are reflected as what I should be receiving next week. WITHIN minutes of looking at it, the status that it was cancelled by the business has been changed to that it was cancelled by ME. Incorrect. Furthermore the estimated earnings are now adjusted -4hrs which they were going to pay me. THEN they actually completely remove the job from "My Work" as if it never existed! TLDR: Run away! They will misrepresent jobs, lie or contradict what policies are, then delete all the evidence as quickly as they can. Support will not respond in a timely fashion at all; that's if you can even get passed their AI system. (can't include screenshots or links here but I posted them on reddit, I commented under another users post, search for: "Does anybody still use instawork? Did I get scammed? This app is so infuriating it feels like a prank")
