I really do like my Inogen
I really do like my Inogen. The only issue is the weight and you possibly need to find a little longer hose . I use it at night also and the hose is just barely long enough to go from my night stand to the bed.

It is perfect except for the weight. If it was half the weight it would be easier. I’m looking for a backpack to attach it to.

When you need supplemental oxygen, and are well enough to keep on the go, Inogen has some expensive, but very useful products. I need it when I’m active, and at night. I am grateful for the technology of this machine that allows me to get around and resume activity as my health allows. However, quality control is lacking in their manufacturing. I bought an Inogen G5 in May 2021, directly from the company. My package came with one small and one large battery, wall charger, car charger, a few canulas, and cross-body carrying bag. For a small add on price, I also purchased the life-time warranty. Good thing. After less than one month the unit stopped running for no apparent reason. Called Inogen customer service, and they were helpful and efficient in getting a replacement unit to me within 3 days; and clear instructions to send the broken unit back to them at their cost. Now, July 2021, the original AC wall cord power supply stopped working. This is also a free replacement and is going to take 3 days to get to me. So, what to say about a nearly $3000 piece of equipment that’s strategic parts have failed twice in the first 2 months? I like the design and convenience of the G5 very much. The customer service has so far been stellar. The quality and durability are questionable, but maybe I’ve just had bad luck with mine, and with a lifetime warranty I should be ok. My O2 level is set at 3, and I get almost 3 hours of power with the small battery; ranging almost 6 hours with the large one. The large battery makes the unit considerably heavier, so I’m strategic about how and when I use that one, but with my lifestyle, it has come in handy. The machine noise consists of a motor whir, that is louder with increased O2 levels, and an intermediate whooshing noise as the machine exchanges gases. You get used to it quickly, like white noise, but may disturb others in quiet settings. The unit weighs about 5 lbs with small battery, and 6+ with large. Carrying the weight takes some getting used to, but I am getting stronger and finding it far less cumbersome than O2 tanks. Users who are in serious recovery, with little strength, will not be able to carry this machine on their own. Over time I hope new models of these machines become lighter and quieter.

It seems to be working OK, and has allowed my husband to go on family trips over the summer. We have noted that the tubing that comes just off of the Inogen seems to get "crimped". So it would be helpful if you were to be able to reinforce the plastic in this area to reduce the problem of "crimping"

the unit is heavier that it seems. or perhaps i am weak. feels more like 10 pounds that 3ish. i use the larger battery. it is also noisy. i wish it were quieter.

My little G4 is quiet. I use it at night and don't notice it at all unless I don't breathe right and then it warns me. I am happy with it. 'Still a little heavy to carry but I don't need that now. I was worried when I couldn't get through to the company. When they did get back to me it was informative. I learned about extending battery life by running the machine without the battery when possible. The batteries are staying up better.

Love the size and weight and I carry a spare battery. It’s so easy to change. Getting used to my backpack.
