The salesman was great; personable and knowledgeable of Inogen and other competing products. I bought the G5 because it most closely met my needs. I was concerned, however, when I read some of the complaints in the reviews. Many times, Inogen's only response was not to address the problem, but rather to advise the customer to "contact a customer representative on telephone XYZ." In my mind, that is a "non-response." I tried that number several times and was consistently put on hold with a 30 minute wait time. My unit works well most of the time. My only complaint is that when operated at a normal or above normal room temperature, the unit warms up and begins to whine like a jet engine, loud enough to overcast normal conversation. I'll try to contact "customer support."

In the space provided below is a short synopsis of a email I sent, which was never acknowledged or replied to. Complete email available on request.
May 10th: Contacted Inogen and was passed on to a “Specialist/Sales Rep.” who assisted me with the purchase pending a prescription verification.
May 17th: Seven days had passed so I called to get a status check. Verified with my “Specialist/Sales Rep.” that my Rx paperwork was complete and the Concentrator Package would be shipped. I was provided with the Order, Tracking Numbers as well as an emailed Invoice.
May 19th: Oxygen Concentrator (S/N 21182309), was delivered. Before unpacking I checked the box for any sign of damage and there was none. After unpacking I installed the Single Battery and connected the AC power, but did not turn Concentrator on, Green Light on Power Supply was On steady. Later that day after the battery was charged disconnected AC Power.
May 20th: Removed single battery and installed double battery, to charge it. Connected AC Power Supply, did not turn Concentrator on, Green light on Power Supply was On steady. About an hour later checked and Green light on Power Supply was still On steady, battery appeared to be charging. I turned Concentrator On to check battery charge level and further test the unit. The Concentrator went into a Priority Alarm and the Yellow Light began Flashing. Status Icon indicated Concentrator was hot. AC Power Supply now had a Flashing Green light. Disconnected AC power, removed battery and checked Concentrator, battery and AC power supply… none of which were hot, or above room temperature. Checked manual and following the Troubleshooting Guide waited 1 hour before re-installing the battery and connecting the AC Power Supply again. When I turned unit on it immediately went into a Priority Alarm again with the Yellow Light Flashing and the Status Icon still indicating unit was hot. Shut Concentrator off, disconnected AC Power Supply and called Client Services Support (Note: It was after normal business hours). Explained what happened and we went thru a Re-Boot (disconnected all power… AC/Battery for over two minutes), then reinstalling battery (charge level of battery was 93%), turned unit on again but it failed to correct the problem. Concentrator went into a Priority Alarm again with the Yellow Light Flashing and the Status Icon still indicating unit was hot… which it was not! Was told someone would call me during normal business hours on Friday May 21st.
May 21st: By 11 AM (Pacific Time), no one had called so I once again called Client Services Support. After explaining what occurred, and my conversation from the night before, I was told that a replacement Concentrator (new), would be shipped to me.
May 24th: Three days had passed and I had not received any information relative to a new Concentrator being shipped so I once again called Client Services Support. Was told a unit would be shipped that day and did receive a FedEx Email confirming shipment that evening.
May 25th: Received the Replacement Concentrator (S/N 21205618). Before unpacking I checked the box for any sign of damage and there was none. Upon unpacking the Concentrator discovered the Cannular Port was bent inward toward the center of the unit. Also observed a crack at the base of the port. The Concentrator showed no other signs of damage so as to whether this occurred during shipment, or was shipped this way is undetermined.
Back to Client Services Support once again. Explained all that had occurred. I was initially offered a new Cannular Port, to be installed by me? Related my basic principle - I had paid cash for a new InogenOne G5 Concentrator, and in exchange for my hard-earned money expected just that! I also explained that with a Life Time Warranty I did not think that I should be replacing parts on a new unit. May 27th: Received another replacement Concentrator S/N 19256225 (New???) So far, the unit seems to be working normally! Time will tell I suppose.

The machine itself is quite good
The machine itself is quite good, however, the carry-case could definitely be improved. There is no place to "store" excess canula cord and clear cord keeps getting kinks in it which I have to struggle to smooth out and is so long I almost trip on it or it gets caught in say the shopping cart etc.. I am a small person and I wish your engineers would work on making the carrying case more adaptable and adjustable.

It's ok, though not perfect.
It's ok, definitely adds to mobility. Not thrilled with it. Remote APP is very disappointing as it serves no purpose. THAT was seriously one of my prime reasons for buying the G5. Carry bag leaves a lot to be desired, especially to a man that has no experience with purses. Swings around, falls off shoulders, in the way if trying to do about anything. Get the backpack or an equal without the "Free" Inogen advertising imprinted on it.

Batteries don't last very long. Have to take cord with me whenever I go. I like the light weight

Unit is much heavier than I thought it would be. Also, more loud than I anticipated. The battery that was to last 13 hours lasts only 6. I am at a “3”, so I guess that accounts for some of this. But for the price, it is still disappointing.

I received my Inogen 5 machine with no problems but I find it very heavy and the Inogen 5 backpack doesn't fit me well as I am very short. I am now at a level 6 with my oxygen so my small battery only lasts about an hour and my big battery about two. It will be fine on the airplane from Vancouver to Calgary but hesitant to go further. On road trips I will be able to take my other oxygen with me. I am happy I bought it but the weight and oxygen use are both limiting to me.
