It takes some effort for a company and products that I wanted to like, that I was more than willing to give the benefit of the doubt too, numerous times,to cause me to turn my back on, but imperfect foods has done it. To begin with, they never managed to fill an order correctly, it was never even close. It was kind of like playing the lottery, you never knew what would be delivered. They were decent about credit etc, but who needs to waste your own time dealing with their ineptitude? The fresh produce was mediocre, at best. The amount of waste that because of covid you are stuck with is astronomical, and. It turns out being as, or more expensive than the grocery store. You will get an endless stream of spam cajoling you to return after you cancel. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me…no thanks

Ordered 2 boxes, produce was alright, not great. Next time to order I was swamped at work and figured I’d just skip it. Then I get an email confirming my box would arrive tomorrow with a bunch of random vegetables, 2/3 of which I don’t like or ever ordered. Items I don’t eat went right in the garbage and membership was canceled. Not sure how they plan to stay in business when they just pick stuff out and put it in a box.

I'm really disheartened to be writing this review but I used to LOVE Imperfect -- they fed me all of last fall and the produce was amazing. Mind you, I didn't have any discounts applied back then. I decided to restart this month and I was given the incentive of a 30% off my first three orders -- the first order I received two weeks ago I was so disappointed. The kale turned yellow in two days and the sweet potatoes gathered mold. This week I received my second order with the discount and lo and behold I'm missing 1/3 of my order. Is it because I'm getting a discount that the produce I'm getting is bad or I'm last priority if anything runs out? I'm not sure what's going on but the quality of the produce and their ability to simply deliver the order you've requested is not to be trusted. Third time to trust this company is shame on me, so I'll be cancelling my subscription with them this week. Though a note: the customer service folks were very nice and refunded me... but it's not what I care about if I was expecting produce delivery on a certain time and day. Also, they couldn't redeliver the items to me (even the following week) because it's not in their policy. I might've stayed if they had helped remedy that error, but this service so far has been making my life harder vs easier. My experience wasn't even a hit or miss, it was two misses :( Good luck and I hope the service improves!

i received an order i placed .the order was poorly packed.items looked as if they were just tossed into the box cherries i had ordered were rolling around in the bottom of the packing box. jars of puddng were loose in the box.the first boxes i received were left out on my porch and not retrieved by me until later in the day. they were so heavely packed i had to unpack them on the porch and bring the items inside on my rollater. i am handycapped and it would be a big help to me if the driver would let me know when he arrrives so i could get him to bring heavy boxes inside for me.

I tried them for about a month. I thought it might be a good alternative to grocery shopping. Right from the beginning I could see that certain things were just not worth it. The packaged meats were always good, but the fish was not. The cherry tomatoes were fresh, but had absolutely no flavor. Often times I'd order two oranges and only get one or after planning a meal around a certain product is get an email after it was too late to do anything that the item was going to be missing from my order. Shrimp came leaking one time, had rotten potatoes several times, a rotten cucumber, bad mushrooms. Customer service was fine about refunding me, but overall, nothing got better. I was always opening the boxes wondering what would be wrong this time. It defeated the purpose of me trying to avoid the stores because I'd have to go out and buy the missing it spoiled items. After I cancelled it really annoyed me that a week or two later,instead of earnestly trying to understand why I stopped using them they just kept bombarding me with emails to rejoin into I had to send them to spam.

Received only one out of two boxes. I was missing eight items in total. Customer service only credited me for 10 out of 20 bucks worth of food that was missing because I used a promotion code. Mind you they charged me 51 bucks for receiving about 30 dollars worth of food. I'm kind of annoyed...

I’m giving 2 stars because I have at some point received some good produce. I don’t mind foods that are irregularly sized or “ugly,” but every box I received did have food that was rotten by the time it reached me, completely smashed in shipping, or otherwise had to be thrown away immediately. I’m talking cucumbers and zucchini in big chunks because there may also have been a jug of milk or glass bottle of oil in the package. I stopped ordering berries because they’d always be open and mashed all over the other foods. Also 4 days for food to be in transit is a long time. The meat was often no longer cold and the ice pack melted. They only use one size box, so if you have a smaller order all that good is just flying around in a large box being smashed up by fedex. The company was pretty good about refunds until my last shipment. They must have changed a policy because normally they add items to your box and then you have from Fri-Sun to make changes and get to the minimum shipping cost. If I did nothing, the box wouldn’t ship because it didn’t meet the minimum dollar amount for shipping. Well they gave me a $10 refund for rotten food I had received and took it upon themselves to apply it to an order to make the min shipment required. I ended up with a bunch of food I would never have picked in the first place. I stopped using them after that. They have a good concept but it just isn’t working.

I love this concept. I do not mind using "ugly" or odd sized produce and the fact that perfectly edible foods go to waste is a problem that needs a solution. Imperfect Foods just does not quit hit the mark. There are some positives: 1. Delivery is reliable and my items arrive at good temps. 2. Their Customer Support staff is always kind and helpful. Unfortunately the negatives can outweigh the positives. I have had items missing from nearly 85% if my orders. I have received items that were not imperfect but were very near inedible due to age or condition (very, very moldy mushrooms, soft mushy cucumbers and broken eggs). My biggest issue is that this is supposed to be way to safe money, save time and save resources. However if I order and plan my next week's meals based on what I order and I then have to rearrange my plans and make a special trip or pay for a delivery of a missing item, I am not really saving anything. They do have some great self branded products and I have not yet closed my account, but I now have an expectation of disappointment when my box arrives and that is not way to make a customer feel. They are nearly there, they just need some quality control in the packing room.
