Step 1 course - 10/10
Dr. Damania's Step 1 course was phenomenal. Dr. Damania is a gifted teacher, explaining clearly, thoroughly covering the material, while distilling the mass of information into their most important and differentiating characteristics for the exam. This review helped me see the bigger picture, develop a differential more easily, clarify areas of confusion, and parse exam questions more effectively. I feel this course boosted by score a lot and helped me with my clerkships. 10/10!

Ari, thank you for the wonderful 10/10 review! I am glad the Step 1 course helped you see the bigger picture, clarify confusing areas, and work through exam questions more effectively. Hearing that it boosted your score and strengthened your preparation means a lot to me!

HyGuru is an ESSENTIAL resource for Step 1 Prep!!!
I just received my step 1 results a few days ago and I’m happy to say that I’ve Passed!! This course was fundamental to my success and I learned so many skills to be a better test taker and to learn the material in an integrative but efficient way. The most valuable aspect of the course for me were the :
1) integrated questions
2) tips & ticks on how to approach a USMLE question.
3) and the suggested UWOLRD questions at the end of each video that you can do to solidify your understanding.
I found the course to be a great way to gain a solid foundation on the material tested for step 1. Additionally, compared to most step 1 prep resources, HyGuru is much cheaper and budget friendly. I am so happy with my results, this was definitely an essential resource in my prep for step 1. If HyGuru released a Step 2 course, I would most definitely buy it!

Alla, congratulations on passing Step 1! I am thrilled that the integrated questions, question-solving tips, and suggested UWorld practice helped you become a stronger test taker and build a solid foundation. Thank you for calling HyGuru an essential and budget-friendly part of your preparation, and I hope to create the Step 2 course you would love to use!

HyGuru is a wonderful Step 1 Prep Resource!
This is a great resource to consolidate the many different types of information we are thrown during our preclinical training. HyGuru does a great job synthesizing high yield information without unnecessary fluff. It is precise and to the point, and easy to watch at increased speeds to save time. It is easy to use alongside first aid, anki, and UWorld, and his productivity course offers a great mechanism for organization throughout your studying period with Notion software.

Mik, thank you for the thoughtful review and for highlighting how HyGuru helped you consolidate high-yield information efficiently. I am glad the resources fit naturally alongside First Aid, Anki, and UWorld, while the productivity course helped organize your study time without Notion. I appreciate your feedback and am wishing you the very best with your preparation!

Thank you, Rahul.
It takes a lot for me to spend money on medical school resources, but I'd spend 4x the amount HyGuru costs to have the knowledge I gained through learning from Rahul.
I found HyGuru 8 months ago on YouTube while studying for my organ system courses. The first video I ever watched was his Respiratory Microbiology video. I spent the next couple of weeks watching his free videos on YouTube. I then bought his P/F course, his productivity course, and his USMLE textbook. Why? He cut my studying time down, provided me peace as I walked into Step 1 preparation, and has given me a level of confidence that I didn't know existed.
I took his P/F course and productivity course throughout my organ systems and just recently opened my UWorld Question bank [6 months prior to my test date (5/15/2023)]. I'm currently scoring a 65% on the QBank (random, test mode) and have completed 16% of it (still 5 months out from the test date). I know that doesn't seem great, but that's actually on average with people who are in dedicated preparation. I know that I would not be scoring that without HyGuru.
I've told every M1 student at my medical school to get HyGuru when they begin organ systems in January because it will jump-start their preparation with such a low time commitment. Rahul takes the burden off the student. Most tutors expect you to come up with a list of questions. Rahul does not. He expects you to show up ready to learn, and he takes care of the rest.
And beyond just preparing me for Step 1, Rahul has inspired me to look into where I can use my skills to help others. His passion for medical students is shown through his commitment. Despite being the best teacher I've ever had, he is currently attending school to become specialized in med ed. How he has time for that... I don't know! Furthermore, he hosts monthly FREE webinars - full of high-yield content. And he responds to every student's emails and questions.

Catherine, thank you for such an incredibly thoughtful review! I am glad the Pass/Fail and productivity courses helped you reduce study time, build confidence, and stay organized through organ systems, and I truly appreciate you recommending HyGuru to your M1 classmates. Your kind words about the webinars and student support mean a great deal to me. Keep going, and I am wishing you every success on Step 1!

Simply the best, better than all the rest!
Quite possibly the best thing about Dr. Rahul, and by extension HyGuru, is that he is one of those people who can make you believe that this stuff is easy to do, easy to master, and fun to work with! Now hear me out, his knowledge of the material is extensive, but so are a lot of people's, the magic piece that HyGuru brings to the front is Dr. D's enjoyment of teaching the material and the ease with which he gets YOU to understand, be comfortable with, and really come to terms with understanding the science!
You could, in theory, sit with UWorld and FA open for step 1 and get where you need to be all by yourself, sure, but I really feel that you would be doing yourself a disservice to do it that way! WORK SMART, NOT HARD! Rote memorization is great, but much more important that just memorizing facts and doing problems, is enjoying the process - THAT is where HyGuru really shines!!!
I used HyGuru for step 1 (and am definitely planning to for step 2 and shelf exams as well) not because I didn't / don't have UFAPS for step 1/2 prep, but because HyGuru makes the material more memorable, enjoyable, and easier to master than it would ever be without his help! His program brought together all the high-yield points and made them easily digestible!
After using HyGuru for step 1 prep, by the time I got to the USMLE, the questions seemed easy, familiar, and just straight-up fun! I passed the test in the first go, had more than enough time to do each block (haha, even had some extra break time left over going into the final block), and felt extremely comfortable the whole way through thanks in a meaningful way to HyGuru!
Do other companies (BNB, Sketchy, etc) do something similar when it comes to presenting the material? Sure. But the magic bullet with Dr. D isn't JUST that he presents content, but that he makes the process super enjoyable and actually puts a warm, welcoming, easily approachable human face on mastering massive amounts of information! I would absolutely swear by HyGuru for step 1 prep and am delighted to have used him!
Rahul's years of experience, friendliness, affordable prices, methods of sharing info, and yes, making you believe YOU can master the material too, in my experience are both unmatched by and sorely missing from his competitors! 100 bizzilion% recommend him, especially for anybody struggling to get through med school and step tests!

When I reached out to Rahul for private…
When I reached out to Rahul for private tutoring I didn't know I would be gaining more than just a tutor. He has been my mentor and one of the best supporters throughout medical school. Rahul has guided me through STEP 1, shelf exams, STEP 2 and set me up for success during my clinical experience. Not only has he made difficult topics easier to understand with his enthusiasm and memorable analogies, but he has taken me from a poor and nervous test taker to a confident test taker. His method of "stem, paraphrase, and predict" has helped me tackle any question with confidence simply because it gives you a consistent process of thinking each time and minimizes overthinking the question. This method is what helped me gain 40 points from my practice NBMEs to my final STEP 2 score. During dedicated studying he creates a personal study schedule, checks in consistently on your progress, and is just a text away for extra help. I don't know how I would have made it this far without Rahul guiding me every step of the way. To this day I continue recommending him to my friends!

It was an honor to support you through Step 1, shelf exams, and Step 2, and I am grateful that you continue recommending HyGuru to your friends!

This was an outstanding course made by an exceptional professional and human being. Rahul covered very important aspects of how to tackle the USMLE question and it's been a key part of my last month before my step 2 CK preparation. His mentoring so far with me its been full of quality and quantity.
