★☆☆☆☆ Huntington Bank — Absolutely Inexcusable Customer Service Over 10 Hours on the Phone, 9 Different Representatives, Zero Follow-Up, and Over a Week of Incompetence! My experience with Huntington Bank has been one of the most frustrating and unacceptable banking experiences I have ever encountered. I had a wire transfer sent to Huntington Bank to pay off an RV loan. Unfortunately, the loan account number was off by ONE digit. A simple clerical error that should have been relatively easy for a major financial institution to investigate and resolve turned into an absolute nightmare. I spoke with NINE different customer service representatives and supervisors, spending more than TEN HOURS on the phone trying to resolve the issue. Much of Huntington’s customer service appears to be handled through overseas call centers, where communication was frequently difficult due to language barriers. While I have no issue with where someone is located, customers dealing with significant financial transactions deserve clear communication and knowledgeable assistance. Here’s what made this experience particularly infuriating: * Nine different representatives and supervisors, none of whom took ownership of the problem. * Repeated promises of callbacks and updates. Not ONE person ever followed through. * Over 10 hours of my personal time wasted, repeatedly explaining the same situation. * Huntington acknowledged receiving the money, telling me they simply needed to locate it and apply it to the correct account. * More than a week of delays, with absolutely no meaningful communication or resolution. * After all of that, Huntington REJECTED THE WIRE ANYWAY! Let that sink in. Huntington acknowledged having the funds, kept me chasing answers for over a week, repeatedly promised updates that never came, and ultimately rejected the transaction. Why wasn’t the wire rejected immediately if Huntington couldn’t process it? Why did nine employees and supervisors fail to provide a consistent answer? Why were callbacks repeatedly promised but never made? And why did I have to spend more than ten hours doing the bank’s job for them? This is not simply poor customer service. It is a complete failure of accountability, communication, and basic banking operations. When a financial institution is handling large sums of money, customers should not have to beg for information about where their funds are or whether their loans have been paid. Huntington Bank demonstrated an astonishing lack of urgency, professionalism, and responsibility throughout this entire ordeal. My advice: Think very carefully before trusting Huntington Bank with an important financial transaction. If something goes wrong, based on my experience, you may find yourself spending countless hours trying to get someone to take responsibility. I would give Huntington Bank ZERO stars if that were an option. Absolutely disgraceful customer service. Huntington Bank should be embarrassed.

I contacted Huntington Bank in regards to a debit card that was mailed but wasn’t issued, so I called my bank first of all she didn’t introduce herself. I told that I still hadn’t received my debit card that it was the only way that I could buy food, she then proceeded to tell me that if I didn’t get it by next Friday which is October 23,2026 it was ordered on October 05,2026. And I told her that I didn’t drive that it was the only way that I could buy food. She then replied you can always pay 25.00 to get it in 3 days, I said no I have already been going without food, this will make it even worse. No I’m so sorry, very cold! I also replied I guess I will have to go hungry a few more days. She didn’t apologize for her rude behavior and this really upset me and after I made that comment she said goodbye she didn’t say I’m sorry but have a nice day and thanking for banking with Huntington, nothing extremely rude. If I drove I would go to another bank that respects their customers

On October 7, 2026 I found out that there is a hold on my Huntington Bank while they are reviewing my account. I have informed several representatives that as a result of them holding my funds I lost my cellphone service, I also need my money to purchase groceries as well as medications. On October 10,2026 I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and my next step will be filing a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's office.

In August I opened a Hunting Bank Checking & Savings account for various reasons, one of which they are at Cub Foods grocery stores and more available on the weekends. I noticed I forgot to use their offer from mail for a deposit bonus and it took 4 PHONE CALLS over 4 days and talking to a REP IN PERSON in ANOTHER CITY to get it added since the place in my city had ONE TELLER available at 5p.m., rush hour. I updated my automatic deposit account info with the VA online a week later to go to Huntington with the ACCT # VERIFIED at BOTH ENDS, the VA ACKNOWLEDGED the update and showed online 3 weeks later at 9a.m. on 1 Oct the DEPOSIT was SENT to HUNTINGTON BANK that day. I called the bank 2 Oct to ask why it hadn’t shown up online, it was hard to understand with her accent, but after several preliminary questions & her questions, she only said it may take 2 – 3 Business days for Huntington Bank to recognize and ACCEPT the deposit. I’m surprised it didn’t even SHOW IT AS PENDING. I called AGAIN on 3 and 4 October assuming it would show AT LEAST PENDING but never did. Each time I waited for a call back (5-15 minutes) but the Reps had NO NEW INFORMATION on what was going on. ONE person kept asking me WHEN the VA should EXPECT HUNTINGTON to RECEIVE IT. I was confused. I told him SEVERAL TIMES they SENT IT on the 1st of the month & it was UP TO HUNTINGTON to ACKNOWLEDGE & RECEIVE it, otherwise, ON THE FIRST, THE SAME DAY! Seemed he was still confused. On 4 Oct I see my VA webpage showed it was ISSUING A CHECK. Wow. No msg from them OR from HUNTINGTON BANK that there was a mismatch of info or something wrong. I NEVER got a CALL, EMAIL, TEXT or MESSAGE ONLINE from HUNTINGTON BANK that it REFUSED the Deposit & WHY. I called TWO MORE TIMES, 7 & 8 October to find out MORE ABOUT IT but the FIRST REP still couldn’t answer, and the 2nd time I waited for the ‘CALL BACK’ Option but it NEVER HAPPENED – NOT in my CALL LOG. I’M SWITCHING BACK! I should’ve learned from a not so great experience with TCF years ago as they are Merged with Huntington or H. Bank bought them. Seems when a company does really bad with people or business, they CHANGE NAMES so you DON’T THINK it’s the SAME ONE. STAY AWAY from HUNTINGTON BANK!!!! They really DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING and the Reps you talk to have very LIMITED KNOWLEDGE of their JOB and don’t seem to CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS!

Huntington Bank is possibly the most inept company that I’ve ever dealt with. They’re certainly the most inept bank I’ve ever dealt with. We had a construction loan that we signed all the paperwork for in July and we were told it would be converted to a mortgage loan. We started paying our mortgage then but soon found out that they hadn’t set up our mortgage loan correctly and weren’t taking out escrow, but we’re applying the additional funds towards principle. I called to get that reversed and put directly onto escrow because they took my payment and more than doubled it since I wasn’t paying escrow. when I called in, I ended up being on the phone with Lisa for an hour. She kept telling me that I had to designate the additional payment as escrow even though the payment is not in my bill pay, but is auto drafted by Huntington. Then she told me that my payments to escrow had been reversed, but we’re hanging out in the ethos because they hadn’t been reapplied to escrow. The reason she gave for this is that because in October my loan still hadn’t been converted from a construction loan to the mortgage loan and that that wouldn’t be completed until the third week of October. Then she told me that if I wanted my money applied to escrow, I would need to speak to the construction loan people since they were the ones that still had the loan. Unbelievable! They set up the loan incorrectly, didn’t fix their own mistakes, and when I called about, it could not fix their own mistakes, even after an hour on the phone, but then wanted me to call the construction loan department.

This is literally the worst bank on planet earth they have literally no regard for situations that they put their customers in. Then give no options when it comes to putting some kind of weird 10 day hold on a deposited check. They say go ask the corporation to issue you another check. No cancel option, no explanation of why, no expediting process, nothing. Not to mention, they do not care or have any compassion for the fact that they are the single reason a family of three is now facing a eviction now for moving into a brand new apartment and holding my check funds hostage. Their customer service is negative stars if I could give it that. Disgusting. Use this bank if you want $200 fines for late payments, potential eviction when you move into a new home, and to be so insulted when they do not have single ounce of compassion for you or what the situation you’re going through has caused.

I agree with the rest of the 1 syar reviews. If I could give a negative I would. We had a fraudulent transaction in which the fraud department caught and alerted me. The charge was $989 which set my account negative $950. Called the fraud department to let them know it wasn't us and they can't do anything because it is still pending. Since it happened on Friday at 6 pm this will be pending all weekend. I asked if there was a way for them to put the 989 in as a temporary fix, no. So I asked if I would still be able to use my husband's car to get gas and they said yes. Well sat morning and his card is declined. Called to ask why and it's because the bank is negative. Spoke with a supervisor and was told the transaction is still pending and they can't do anything about it. So huntington bank can suck a fat eggplant. We will never bank with them again. Been a customer for 10+ years smh.
