We contracted with Choice Warranty and apparently Home Service Club has a contract with Choice Warranty to service California. We called for a dishwasher issue, the claim was denied. They said it was not normal wear and tear. I called to cancel the contract as a result and they are charging a cancellation fee and deducting the cost of ALL PRIOR SERVICE CALLS from our refund for. They do not give you back the $65 you paid for the denied claim or for any of the other claims they are back-charging for. BEWARE! The "normal wear and tear" policy is too general and they can claim anything is not normal use and they do. This is the second denial this year. I am a landlord and loved the idea of having a long-term contract the remains the same price forever, but I regret the decision to change over to this company from the other warranty company we were with. We have also referred other people...and now I need to let everyone know what we now know. Home Service Club SUCKS!

Buyer beware check the warranty wording thoroughly. Took 6 visits from their "contractors" to fix a toilet, after I contacted the Department of Insurance HSC called me and said they were going to refund my $130.00 in copays (never received a penny). When another contractor said that my KitchenAide refrigerator could not be fixed HSC told me that they would give me $494.00 in Lowe's gift cards, I told them that as long as I was the one actually paying for the fridge I would choose where I was going to buy it, they finally agreed to send me a check, (never received a penny) I threatened to cancel my warranty and was told that any money they had paid on claims would have to be returned to them unless I kept paying my monthly premium through 11/2022. I told them I was not going to be held hostage by them and cancelled my policy, they didn't confirm the cancellation until after they have deducted the monthly payment from my bank account. I have a telephone call scheduled with the representative handling my case at the Department of Insurance I am filing a claim against HSC and Choice Home Warranty Company they bought HSC. Do not go anywhere near HSC or Choice Home Warranty they are scammers.

was a customer of this company for 2 years and filed my first claim in December of 2021 for my water heater. The company they sent advised me that my hot water heater needed to be replaced. I was responsible for paying 75.00 fee for them to come and access the issue and 1275.00 and the Home Service Club paid 425.00. It in March of 2022 my hot water her stopped working and HSC advised me that I had to go through the warranty company for the heater. I called the water heater company and was advised they would send out the part but I had to find someone on my own to install it. A plumber came by who advised me that, I am missing the drip pan, the pole that was used is not up to code, it was not tightly secured into place and they used a dryer vent to connect the heater. He advised that my home would not pass inspection because of these things. He gave me an estimate of 1265.00 to correct the issues. Home Service Club would not assist me with the matter and told me that I had a 30 day warranty to call with concerns. Since 30 days have passed It would be a new claim in to which I would pay for the majority once again. In addition to this also in March my refrigerator broke. I filed another claim. A gentlemen came to my home for less then 5 minutes and advised he needed to replace the fan. He asked for the 75.00 fee and said he would submit the info to HSC. For 3 weeks I have gotten the run around from them stating that they need more info. Today April 1st 2022 I called and requested for them to cancel my policy. I was hung up on and ignored. It took me over an hour to get my policy cancelled. They out right refused to cancel it and advised me that if I cancel it I would have to pay them the 425.00 they paid for the water heater. I have paid them over 1080.00 since being with them and my only claim costed them 425.00. How dare them. This is the worst home warranty company I have ever had.

This company is a fraudulent business avoid them like a deadly illness. We bought their top of the line policy. We have paid through an electronic from our bank for seven years. We had our electric range oven to go out last month. We got the run around for over a week as they did not have an appliance repair company in our area. The company they had found was two hours away. He kept canceling his appointments with us. HSC told us they do not have anyone in our area for us to hire an appliance repair company in the area where we lived. We did this and he called them as they required. He cave and checked our stove out. The main computer board was no longer manufactured and the main supply house in Dallas, TX said there was none to be had. A representative of HSC called and said they has found the part and it was on back order. When it comes available they would ship it to me but it may be several months. She said if you would rather we will email an electronic gift card to LOWES to you shortly for $329.00 so you can apply it to buy a new one. Our range is the top of the line SAMSUNG. We paid close to over $3,000 for it five years ago. I told the lady I would accept that as we have not been able to cook or bake for over a month. It has been three days. They are saying it takes thirty days to get the e-gift card issued and emailed. I called LOWES. They said they do not have any e-gift cards. They said this sounds fraudulent. We are still trying to get something from this company. AGAIN STAY AWAY FROM THEM IN FACT RUN THE OTHER DIRECTION! Policy#246280 Claim#664066. Well seetheir response below. This place is the worst. I never once could talk to the cancellation team since the customer service rep would always say they weren’t there. They had 3 dispatches to fix my fridge over 2 months and ended up leaving it broke saying the ice maker is not something they cover. They ended up making me pay for the incomplete work and left me with a broken fridge. Read the fine print folks. If you want more details feel free to email me.

This company will not refund money as promised which is very concerning. Questionable for a scam/illegal activity. They do not provide the customer service that is advertised. Avoid this warranty company.

I am writing in response to your request for a written appeal for the denial to fix or replace my air conditioning unit . This unit needs to be fixed or replaced by Home Service Club. I paid for services by your company 1 year in advance, as your sales representative who sold me the warranty assured me that if anything in my home was broken that you would fix it or replace it. We noticed our Air Conditioning unit was not cooling properly so we called to report a claim on on July 19, 2021. The first HSC Technician: NEED A TECH Heating & Air Conditioning failed to show up for the appointment that you Scheduled for Friday July 23rd, 2021. Your HSC Your HSC Technician when I called, stated that he never scheduled an appointment and he knew nothing about it. I called HSC customer service the same day and reported the no-show the same day. Your HSC technician did not show to diagnose my unit until July 29, 2021 in which he gave me a verbal diagnosis that the fan motor was failing as he watched it run for a period of time and then the fan stopped turning and then make a loud noise. Your HSC Technician informed me that the fan stopped turning it stops cooling and made a loud noise. Equivalently to what I had observed and video taped during his diagnostic. Because of the irresponsible behavior of your technician, once again caused this failure. We submitted claim on 7/19/21 no response until 8/18/21 with a denial letter, 1 whole month is unacceptable and especially in this kind of dangerous and intense weather. My attorney submitted a demand letter there were instructed to reply by email they decided to call on telephone and we have been playing phone tag for one week and As of September 9, 2021 unit still not fixed. In there denial letter they never even mentioned the first technicians diognosis. Why.. Please avoid this company for they will pay smaller claims and attempt to weasel out of the more expensive claims. Terrible customer service. Salesman are all Americans, Customer service Department is in the Philippines and they have no ability to escalate calls the only communication they have with other departments is through email and they are so busy that it takes 24-48 hour for a response, if you miss a call that cycle starts over. I have never dealt with a company like this.. RUN RUN.. Run. When I bought the warranty the salesman tried to get me to commit to (5) years up front. I should have done the monthly so I could RUN.. If you live in California especially beware customer service in the Philippines has no knowledge or relationships here. I live in Central California and when they scheduled a Technician to fix my washer they scheduled a company from Los Angeles (4) hours away. When I called to confirm the appointment the scheduler just laughed. Still fighting to get my services completed.

The Home Service Club say I that evaporator coil is physically damaged and leaking due to rust and/or erosion and is installed with incorrect freon pressure, which are all exclusions of coverage under the home warranty. Base on information obtained for this claim, the unit did not enter the policy in proper working condition. This makes no since. They keep hanging up on me when I call and won't let you talk to management.
