Pretty annoying
This app is very annoying, it automatically connects to the super slow network, collects lots of data, and is pretty bad compared to other free VPN services. The only situation i would reccomend the free version of Hotspot Shield is when you need a VPN to do something with low internet usage and quickly on a public network, though other free VPN services are better in other categories while also being good at this

A good VPN service, especially if bundled with Dashlane
I got it as a part of Dashlane premium. It used to have an inbuilt VPN connectivity provided by Hotspotshield or its parent company. They recently just gave us access to Hotspotshield directly. And I haven't had any complaints. I never felt the need to opt for any other services. A few servers are hard to connect to here and there and the auto option seems to only connect to the US, but it's fine. You can always choose your location as you wish.
