Tyler, Thanks for your constructive criticism. This kind of feedback helps us improve. You’re not the only one who dealt with a seller who didn’t understand how Homeward works. As a result of situations like yours, we’ve created materials to educate listing agents who may not be familiar with us. Our hope is that this will answer their questions and alleviate their concerns. We’ve also updated our customer experience so that homebuyers will have a single point of contact throughout the homebuying process. Linda, thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. We know you and our VP of Operations were able to connect directly, but for the benefit of closing the loop we wanted to provide a response here as well. Homeward's approach to homeowners insurance aligns with Homeward's overall approach: our goal is to get you, the homebuyer, living in your new home and functioning as the homeowner right away, when you otherwise may not have been able to buy the home at all. This means that if there are any necessary repairs to the home during the time you are living there and preparing to buy it back from us, you would be responsible for any claims and costs as outlined in our agreement. We also understand that sometimes paying for the cost out of pocket is cheaper than making a claim and will always leave that option up to the homebuyer, putting you in the driver's seat. We're thrilled you are happily in your new home, and thank you for being a Homeward customer!
