Husband and I switched to this company In October 2025. They did a bait & switch…
Gave us good rates to get us to switch to them & now for policy renewal starting on October 1, 2026 they raised our entire policy 43%!!!!
Yes. 43%. We made no changes, & filed no claims.
Only an idiot would stay with this company.
We will be switching in the next week and the 8 recommendations I made to family/ friends I RETRACTED.
I made sure they know not to use this company.
You run the numbers every year?
Funny. Because i do not know 1 other homeowner whose policy hiked like this.

Worst Insurance company!
Absolutely pathetic excuse of an insurance company. They dropped my whole policy 2 months after moving into a new home. They stated the shingles on a detached 2 car garage had too much granular loss. Mind you this is not a living space and the shingles were in good condition per a third party roofing contractor. This company is the worst I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. DO NOT USE!

Homesite cancelled my Insurance after House was Robbed
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Homesite Insurance after my home was burglarized.
This was a real and traumatic burglary involving a shattered glass door and approximately $350,000 worth of property being stolen. A safe containing valuable property and important identity documents was taken, along with numerous other personal belongings. Police responded to the incident, and I reported the loss to Homesite.
Instead of feeling supported by the insurance company I had been paying to protect me in exactly this type of situation, I felt like I was treated as though I was the person under investigation.
I cooperated with Homesite’s investigation and provided the information requested throughout the claims process. Despite that, Homesite ultimately denied my entire burglary claim and canceled my renters insurance.
What is especially troubling to me is the severity of that outcome given the magnitude of the loss. Approximately $350,000 worth of property was stolen, and instead of receiving the protection I believed I was paying for, I was left with a denied claim and no coverage going forward.
Going through a burglary of this magnitude is already an incredibly stressful experience. Your home has been violated, a substantial amount of property is gone, and you are dealing with police reports, replacing identity documents, securing your home, and trying to recover. The last thing I expected was to then feel as though I had to defend myself to my own insurance company.
I understand that insurance companies have a responsibility to investigate claims, and I have no issue with a legitimate investigation. My issue is with how my claim was handled, the conclusions that were reached, and the severity of the outcome.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend Homesite. Before purchasing a policy, I would encourage anyone considering them to carefully understand how claims are investigated, how coverage decisions are made, and what can happen when a major loss occurs.

⭐ 1 STAR
⭐ 1 STAR — WARNING -- Extremely Disappointing Experience With Homesite
I strongly recommend that anyone considering Homesite for homeowners insurance think twice.
Our experience with Homesite has been incredibly frustrating, stressful, and, frankly, unacceptable.
We recently received notice that Homesite is canceling our homeowners insurance effective September 8, 2026, stating that our property does not meet their underwriting requirements. What makes this particularly upsetting is that we are already actively addressing and repairing the issues with the property. We are not ignoring problems or refusing to make necessary repairs. We are in the middle of addressing them and have contractors involved.
Despite this, Homesite has chosen to terminate our coverage, leaving us scrambling to secure replacement insurance while we are already dealing with an extremely stressful property situation.
The way the property assessment was handled was also deeply concerning.
The assessor, William, was blatantly rude, snarky, condescending, and dismissive toward me. I felt that I was treated noticeably differently than my husband during the assessment. His demeanor toward me was completely inappropriate and unprofessional, and I left the interaction feeling disrespected rather than treated like a paying customer.
We are now requesting a complete written explanation of exactly what underwriting issue resulted in this cancellation, who made the decision, what inspection or assessment documentation was relied upon, and the identity and information of the individuals involved. We are also requesting clarification regarding our remaining premium and when our refund will actually be issued, since our insurance is escrowed through our mortgage lender.
The entire experience has created unnecessary financial stress and uncertainty. Having homeowners insurance canceled while actively working through necessary repairs is not something we ever expected, and Homesite has done very little to make this process feel transparent or customer-focused.
What is especially disappointing is that we have multiple properties and numerous relationships with contractors, real estate professionals, lenders, and brokers. Based on this experience, we will not be choosing Homesite for our future insurance needs. We will also be sharing our experience with the professionals we work with so that they can make informed recommendations to their clients.
I am pursuing this matter through the appropriate channels, including filing a formal complaint with the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance and the Better Business Bureau.
I am not asking Homesite for special treatment. I am asking for basic accountability, transparency, professionalism, and reasonable communication regarding a decision that has significant financial consequences for our family.
If you are considering Homesite, I strongly encourage you to research the company carefully and understand what can happen when underwriting raises concerns about a property.
This has been an absolute nightmare, and based on our experience, we will not be using Homesite again.

Systemic Bad-Faith/ Illegal Whole-Claim Asset Freeze (CDI C are 8736748)
Policyholder Profile: Military Veteran
• ACTIVE STATE CASE: California Department of Insurance (CDI) Case File No. 8736748 (Caseworker: William Tran)
• Net Property Loss Claim Floor: $8,450.00
• Undisputed Personal Property Asset Balance: $7,000.00
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY OF STATUTORY INFRACTIONS:
This carrier’s regional frontline unit (specifically referencing Adjuster Robin Madden out of the Wisconsin operations hub and Special Investigator Edna Gutierrez) is actively utilizing unauthorized, off-the-record steering tactics to suppress a valid property loss filed on June 24, 2026 under CDI Case File No. 8736748
DOCUMENTED TIMELINE DECEIT:
1. The 42-Day Silence Vacuum: The carrier completely abandoned communication for 42 consecutive days without issuing a coverage determination, flagrantly violating California Code of Regulations Title 10, § 2695.7(b)
2. The Factual Ingestion: On July 7, 2026, I uploaded an authentic Apple Support Database Verification and the true machine Serial Number (XR49V245WR), anchors that prove absolute good faith and completely invalidate any claim of fraud or misrepresentation
3. The Deceptive Technical Shield: On July 31, 2026, the branch issued a formal written delay notice to technically satisfy basic system compliance filters and buy an extra 30 days of evaluation time
4. The Illegal Portal Lockout & Verbal Threat: Immediately after putting that delay notice on the record, the frontline unit locked me completely out of my customer portal dashboard and executed an unrecorded verbal "ghost call" falsely claiming the file was denied for fraud . They have never issued a formal, signed written denial letter because they possess zero objective proof of fraud.
5. The Retaliatory Fishing Loop: Following the filing of my formal CDI Complaint on August 3 (CDI Case File No. 8736748), the adjuster launched an unprompted email probe demanding ancient claims records from a completely separate company (USAA) from years past [INDEX, INDEX]. This inquiry holds zero material relevance to my current loss under 10 CCR § 2695.7 and is an intentional, bad-faith attempt to manufacture a retroactive non-cooperation dispute to stall the file.
6. Flagrant Violation of the Undisputed Asset Rule: Most critically, by shutting down my portal interface over an isolated computer line-item dispute, the carrier is actively maintaining an illegal total freeze on my separate, entirely undisputed $7,000.00 base personal property list (clothing, gear, luggage) [INDEX, INDEX]. This is an open-and-shut violation of 10 CCR § 2695.7(h), which strictly prohibits withholding undisputed property payouts to force leverage over a disputed item.
RESOLUTION REQUIRED:
This file has been fully supplemented on the California Department of Insurance master terminal under CDI Case File No. 8736748 To protect the parent corporation’s general fund from massive civil bad-faith liability and uncapped punitive damages under California Civil Code § 3294, Homesite's Central Compliance layer must execute a manual supervisor override to clear this rogue branch freeze and release my full contract payout straight to the ACH network. I will maintain 100% total communication blackout against their frontline desks and let the state's statutory countdown clock finish the job

Homesite is Geico's home insurance… but do not hold a candle to their customer service
Homesite is Geico's home insurance company. Their customer service is beyond horrible!! Have tried three different times to get a customer service rep and was left on hold for a total of over six hours!! What's mind boggling is Geico's auto insurance customer service is beyond great! If I was a good name like them I would be more careful about who represented me wouldn't you? If I could give them a negative 5 stars I would.

I would give them zero out of 5
I would give them zero out of 5 if I could. Worst home insurance company ever, they don't honor and claims and reject any claims for no reason and they play ignorance when you call them.
