We regret signing up with them. We have reached out to explain why we want to close our account, but they only care about discussing how to get payment. We have been unable to a get any time at any Vacation Club resort; no matter how we access them through the Club. The past seven years has been a very disappointing and frustrating experience.

I was Sold a 3 night package for $249.00 to use at any of the Holiday inn club Vacation resorts. I was told that it would get the money back in cash after attending there 90 minute sales pitch and tour of the property I selected. I selected the property in Scottsdale, you go to the website and use the booking reference number they provide when signing up. when you select you dates they don't send you a confirmation right away, you get a notification after requesting that if they accept your request you will receive an email. if they don't a representative will call you. email confirmation received about a week and half later. We made all the arrangements, time off work, airfare, and rental car. when we arrived at the property they said that they didn't have our reservation. I pulled up the email confirmation and hidden in the email that's 4 pages long there are two addresses, one for the club property and your scheduled seminar the other was for a Home2 Hilton hotel 40 minutes away. we drove there and its a dump, not what we were told not staying at the resort not using the pool and facilities that they promoted when selling the stay. I called the reservation number and it took me 30 minutes on hold, when i got through i wanted to know why we aren't staying at the property, how can i evaluate it if I'm not staying there. they wanted to charge me $100.0 to cancel staying at this hotel. My reasoning was we planned our trip and activities based on the Holiday inn club location not this other brand 40 minutes away. I told the representative that this will ad an hour to anything we wanted to do in the Phoenix area and would make using the hotel as a base to come back to during the day almost impossible. At this point i was wanting to book my own hotel that was more centrally located and was still planning on going to the sales pitch and my scheduled time, I wanted my $249.00 back. they tried to book me at a property that was 10 miles away, when I went to that Hotel page they said they were under going renovations so parts of the hotel might not be accessible and expect construction work being preformed. I told the representative that it was not going to happen, she kept putting me on hold , she came back with an offer, stay at the Home2Hilton Hotel and they will give me another $150.00 on top of my $249.00 after the sales pitch. I said that the fact that they deceived me about were I would be staying, and now i have to plan an extra 2 to 3 hours into my daily travels it wasn't worth it to me. I told her when this conversation started you said it was being recorded, so was the conversation I had when you sold me this package. At no time during the sales pitch was I ever told I would not be staying at the actual club location, all communication implied that we would be at the property. I asked her to pull the recording and listen to it. I was put on hold again. When she finally came back the offer no was they could cancel my tour and waive any cancelation fees and I can rebook without penalty. I said that's not an option because we have already spent money on airfare, rental Car and used PTO from work, and now knowing that booking again means we still wont be staying at the property as promised I have no desire to continue down this bath with a very deceptive company. At this point she said the only other thing they can do is cancel the entire club vacation package they sold me and refund my $249.00. This is the option I took. they said it will take 7 to 10 days for me to get my refund so we will see if that happens.

Do not make the mistake of getting involved with Holiday Inn Club Vacations. This timeshare program is completely useless, and after seeing negative experiences from people all over the internet, it’s clear I’m not the only one dealing with this nightmare. I have explicitly told HICV multiple times to cancel my account, but they continue to send me bills every single month. I already paid off my entire loan balance in full, but instead of simply taking back the useless timeshare and canceling it, they expect me to pay even more money in extra fees just to walk away. It makes no sense because they will just turn around and resell anyway. The customer service is completely unhelpful. Once you're in, they hold your freedom hostage for more cash. Protect your finances, hold them accountable, and run the other way.

I am retired and this membership is just a financial burden. We have reached out to try and close our account, but they are not being responsive to our request.

We have paid them so much and no longer use our membership, but they are not cooperating with us with trying to close our account. Their customer service is awful.

Member for over 15 years and finally being allowed to cut ties with HIVC. It’s been a nightmare from the beginning with outrageous maintenance fees, membership dues, charges to make a reservation, not being able to reserve the signature locations on dates requested, to being held hostage by not letting you cancel your membership even when your deed was fully paid for. I have requested certain resorts and been told there was no availability and go online and could reserve a room for cash. Don’t be swindled by them, it’s cheaper to pay as you go and not deal with this company at all. Of course it’s all sunshine and rainbows when you’re being solicited, please don’t be fooled.

We have reached out multiple times to let them know we do not want this membership any longer. They are refusing to work with us!
