As you can see from all of the other reviews, this company is terrible. They claim that checks are fast and they have access to databases for quick turnarounds on checks, but they don't. Their claimed 2-5 day turnaround on background checks is a lie. Mine has taken over 5 weeks. They constantly harrass candidates for information, even if it isn't relevant to the position you are applying form. On top of this, their customer service is terrible, be it over the phone or on their live chat, they provide no information or help and look to get you off the phone as quckly as possible. They do not care at all. Hireright's practices will lead to good candidates going elsewhere, and causing further recruitment costs to find someone else. Please, do not use this company.

Hireright do absolutely NOTHING... It would be easier if the recriter asked me to bring prooof of degree to interview. Hireright want me to do ALL the work they are paid to do. Charlatans and thieves.

This is my third experience with HireRight and I swear it will be my last. They are totally incompetent and make the applicant do their work for them. The constantly require W2's, Paystubs, transcripts, etc. from years back. For one job, they even required me to go and get my high school transcript from decades ago. My new interview question is, "Do you use HireRight for your background check?" If so, I am declining any offer I get from now on.

HireRight people are so incompetent that NO business should be using them. They cannot verify anything. For each of my employers, I'll send them documents, W-2, or even documents from the government but apparently none of that works. They MUST get someone to call or email to verify - that's absolutely abyssal. Stay away at all costs. They hide their researchers behind an extra layer of customer service which is incredibly frustrating. The customer service people have NO freaking clue what documents you need, thus making you call them all day until you get something.

Hireright never got my criminal background check from The Reno Justice Court, which cost me and my company a full week of my working time. I got into contact with the court and got the check within 10 minutes. My company could have been waiting for the check forever! Instead of Hireright, simply do the criminal background check yourself. It will be easier, faster and more reliable—for free!

I am a consultant and my employer used HireRight to complete a background check. They have been completely incompetent, but the most egregious is their handling of my fingerprint card and subsequent customer service response to my inquiries. They had no information on the whereabouts of arguably the most confidential personal information I could give them (for a week) and refused to escalate my requests and instead chose multiple times to hang up on me. I lost a position because of their actions and lack of responsiveness.

I am receiving daily emails from Hireright asking me to provide a reference for an individual my company has never employed. I have replied and told them this and yet they keep sending the emails and even have the nerve to give me a deadline! They are sending sensitive personal information about a candidate to the wrong company. This is in breach of GDPR let alone being totally incompetent! As an employer I would strongly recommend you don't use this company to do your reference checking as they clearly don't know what they are doing.
