I believe this company was created to discourage people from working by making the hiring process unnecessarily difficult. They request excessive documentation even for the simplest jobs, which feels invasive and unnecessary. It is disappointing that companies choose to use a third-party service like this to collect so much personal data from candidates. In my opinion, this process will cause employers to lose many great candidates. If a company asks you to complete a HireRight background check, I would strongly recommend thinking twice before agreeing.

This is hands down, the worst background check company I have ever run across. It took them literally three weeks , just to verify two counties in Pennsylvania. They kept lying to me on three different occasions about when the actual background check would be completed. As I am writing this review my background Check still hasn't come back yet. No other company has ever taken this long or given as many excuses as this company. Do yourself a favor and find another reputable company.

Never in my life has background check taken this long. Or had to do all the work they should be doing! Why do I need to provide tax history and pay stubs? The documents they are requesting feel like an invasion of privacy i do not understand how or why I need to out up with this and it about to cost me a great job opportunity.

Their background check has been extremely slow and it seems that timely completion is foreign to them.

The company my boyfriend is currently onboarding for uses HireRight. They asked for his three most recent employers. He submitted four because he only worked for himself for 5 months. Because he was self employed for five months, he submitted the articles of organization from the state and federal government to prove that he was employed out of his own company. They said that they wanted his tax returns to prove that he was employed by his own company, even though he submitted documentation from the federal government. Mind you, he only was self employed for FIVE MONTHS. Now, thanks to this stupid company, my boyfriend is having to stay longer at a job that is sucking the life out of him. The fact that this company has over 700 one star reviews tells me everything I need to know.

VERY LONG WAIT TIME , a SIMPLE BACKGROUND CHECK THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE 2-4 business days is NOW only 60% AFTER TWO WEEKS !

I received a call from Nora who left me a message regarding an employee. For starters, she was incredibly difficult to understand due to her Indian/East Asian accent. She left the message and included the number and extension to call her back. I used the numbers she gave. The extension she gave did not exist. Why are potential employers paying for this horrible service?

They did a drug screen on me for a potential job. I didn’t give it a second thought. I’m 66 yrs old. I haven’t messed with anything illegal since the early 80’s. Lo and behold it came back positive for Cocaine. I couldn’t believe what they were saying when they called me. I told them to do a retest. A couple days later, they called me with the same result. I disputed their claim on the FMCSA Clearinghouse site. I still had to get a SAP and take the 8 hour course. Then I had to pay again to get a company to set me up for another drug test. All together it’s cost me around $800 to get my status updated. I took another drug test at my own expense. It was Negative. These people messed up my urine sample and I had to pay the price. When you call customer service, you’ll talk to some Indian. There call center isn’t in the US. This place needs to be shut down! They ruin people’s lives!
