This is my second experience with HireRight. Where would I start … first time took them 6 weeks to complete my background check, I actually turn down the offer after 4 simply because of that I was tired of this whole process. Now I really wanted this job . Exactly 2 weeks ego process started and I was well prepared - has all previous employer references, provided them phone numbers to HR. Filled in everything the same day when I got the link. After a week they asked me for the info I already submitted . Then I was ask to provide name and a number to specific person in HR - I worked for huge international companies not a small family business . How would I know that. Then they had a problem to confirm my education- even I provide certificate of my degree . My start date is very soon and still nothing done. Past 10 years I work for 3 companies . That’s should be done on the spot. I have done all the job for them . Still can not get that sort it . I just do not understand how they operate ….. I can not imagine if someone would left the job and think they have a star date that day and end up dealing with this stupid company for weeks not getting paid .

Absolutely worthless company. It's been almost 8 weeks since they started my background check and it's still not complete. They made me give proof of what I did when I took a few months off between jobs - even if I had sat on my ass for the entirety of it, it still wouldn't be any of their business. They also continuously ask me for documents that I don't have, even after providing the details of the relevant HR person NUMEROUS times. It seems picking up the phone or sending an email is just too difficult for them. In the future, I'd rather not take a job if they use HireRight to do their background checks.

I had taken reference check by hireright twice recently as I left the first company after 3 months. In the second review, hireright ask me to provide W2 to prove that I work for the company which obviously I cannot provide because not pass the year end. And Hireright just mark me two other working experiences as Discrepancy, given two: 1) they did not ask me provide more information; 2) they have done reference check on me for these two experiences before, and I refer them the previous report.

The worst company I've ever came across. I filled out the information and it won't let me proceed, contacted the hiring company to send me a new link and it's doing the same thing all over again.. Absolutely horrendous and unprofessional, and when you call they'll ask you to try to login in 24 hours and the same problem continues. I just wish companies wouldn't use this TERRIBLE service. My offer will probably get rescinded due to their mess and that's not fair at all.

Extremely incompetent, keeps asking me for stuff that's either readily available or unreasonable to give. As if that's not already annoying enough, every day or two, they will come to me to ask me to sign some kind of document. For the love of god, please just combine everything you need into one email so I don't need to be constantly harassed by their researcher for new information every single day

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had. And it's not only related to the hiring process. It already goes on for 4 weeks to make a background check, and I barely can believe it will end after 6 weeks in total. They request additional documents, receive them, review them only a week later, then immediately request more additional documents (which could've been requested without reviewing the previous ones) and disappear for another week while not responding to emails! Their support is pretty much blind to emails. Sent them 3 emails after submitting additional docs they requested asking if that's what they need - they stayed silent for a week.

One of the worst background check companies one can ever encounter. Probably low cost, they try to verify university diplomas from non English speaking countries by calling the office in English and wondering why they get no result. Same method goes also with approaching HR from former employment places (if they ever manage to reach them and find them as some multinationals do not provide this contact data publicly and Hireright does not walk the extra mile) . They work mechanically as per pre-written procedures and seldom use logic in their approach or creativity. Former background checks made by them are not reused so the same information gets verified again and again. Attachments added to a background check are not properly screened and thus they ask for the same information again (very superficial). Despite this employers still believe they are effective and pay for their service. Quite a sham if you ask me but this is how the current economical model works, supply and demand.

This company took 5+ weeks to conduct a search that takes literally a mater of seconds. I understands it’s a BG check, but this company seemingly presents itself as “conducting research” in an effort to prove its value to clients. This can be hugely negative for applicants. You could have zero history, but the vague updates have the potential to create negative perceptions with potential employers. I’ve found myself having to explain things that are irrelevant. I called my local court house, DAs office and State. All checked my name in seconds and returned “no data”. Yet HireRight takes 5 weeks??? Lazy company that takes personal info of applicants and waste their time.
