Dear companies, please do not use this company, as you run the risk of rescinding offers based off of information that can be proved. This company put me through so much mental stress because they couldn't verify my information. I called my previous employers myself and verified the information because HireRight emailed me a few days after submitting the background check, stating my information couldn't be verified. I was asked to provide w2's for my previous jobs and once I did that, they said that the documents weren't enough to verify my employment there (even though it has my name, information, address, name of the company, and dates listed on the document). Because the w2 wasn't enough, I then asked to send paycheck stubs. Once I did that they still said it wasn't enough. I was then emailed again the next day asking for IRS Transcripts. I provided that and again the next day, I was told it wasn't enough to verify my employment. It should also be stated that when filling out the background check forms, I provided my previous jobs current phone numbers and email address'. So, I called HIRERIGHT and was placed on hold for over 45 min. After seeing that I had no clue when the phone would be picked up because they don't give you an estimated wait time, I selected the press 1 to be called back. They never called back. All the while, I also tried to use the live chat feature to speak with someone. I waited on live chat for the next available representative for over an hour and then randomly the live chat ended, without ever talking with someone. The next day I tried calling again and was placed on another 45 minute hold with the same no-response. Again no one called me back, but I was able to chat with someone on live chat the next day, who let me know that the documents I've provided should be enough. That gave me slight relief as I was expecting to have my background check completed soon within the next few days. Well the next day comes and I was told that my information STILL WAS NOT ENOUGH. HireRight now had my w2s, paycheck stubs, IRS TRANSCRIPTS, phone numbers, and email address to my previous jobs. I ended up calling my future job to let them know what I was experiencing and was told that this company does this all the time. I then emailed HireRight, letting them know that I have literally provided all that I could and don't know what else they expect. I even called my previous employers and verified myself to see what was going on. In conclusion, I think that this company does a TERRIBLE JOB OF VERIFYING INFORMATION, which is their job to do. Please use a better company for background checks because I did all of the work as the applicant of verifying my own information. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY DO NOT VERIFY OR CARE ABOUT THE APPLICANTS AND THE FACT THAT THEY COULD LOSE THIER NEW JOBS BASED ON FALSE VERIFICATIONS.

I'm speaking on behalf of my boyfriend that is a total wreck after starting back ground check with HireRight. I should have the possibility of giving negative stars as after a good amount of days he's been collecting and delivering an absurd amount of documentation that is needed for absolutely nothing, now they say that instead of him starting contract in beginning of March will only start sometime in May?? He's already given the notice to his former employer. Because of Your inefficiency he will I be without a job and without pay for 2 months?? And still have no garanties that I will start in May... Totally negligible and unacceptable behaviour!!

Worse background check ever. They keep emailing and calling the wrong people. Inefficient, slow and highly unprofessional.

I have 15 emails of inconsistencies and why my report is not ready. I have also delayed my start date and can't seem to get an approval. The ONLY people that have an easy process are with maybe 1 job or if they are a large scale business. Wow, talk about horrible for small businesses because they will not connect DBA to Legal. I just want my background released to the employer who gave me the offer and let them determine with the emails and 10 documents of W2s, deposits, etc to determine my resume validity.

Never have I experienced a more convoluted, frustrating, and difficult background check. First time I have ever been personally responsible for providing information for a background check other than my name, SSN, and other basic personal information. Honestly, if I ever get a job offer from somewhere in the future that requires me to go through HireRight, I will more than likely pass on the job due to my unwillingness to be subjected to this ridiculous process again.

I just got hired on Jan 24, 2023 and the background check with hireright , still to this day isn’t even completed yet , it is now February 8,2023 , it’s still hanging at 92 percent, I had to push my February 6 start date , to March 6 th , so iam pretty upset that this is taking way too long and I also was reading they go back 7 years or 10 years , it takes them 3-4 days to get results and that also is a lie from what I read online, of all the other places I’ve worked at went through the background process it never took that long and that was for supervisor positions with these other companies.i don’t recommend hireright and not only that there was a class action suit against hireright in 2011 and they to pay out to the victims.

I'm uncertain what hiring companies are paying HireRight for, but it's certainly not to do background checks. Every step of the process was nothing more than the company reaching out to me stating something along the lines of "We have reached out to blank but could not verify information please send us..." W2s, diplomas, and other information was sent and they continually asked for me to do more of the job I assumed they were being paid for. The absolute worse experience I ever had with a background check, and this company was obviously being paid for by the hiring company to simply have me do all the work. An experience so bad, so poorly executed, I ended up not taking the offer because of mismanagement of HireRight. The way it was handled by HireRight made them look poorly, and the company that wished to hire me as well.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY for job verfications. They don't know what they are doing and they jeopardize people's job. They constantly make mistakes, you can barely hear them when you call them (not sure what's that about), they say your account is "expedited" yet your account will still be sitting in the same place. Terrible experience with this company.
