This company has kept my newly hired job waiting a whole month to get back to them on my background check! I call and am always on hold for hours and cannot get ahold of anyone! I am at rush for losing this position because they have not gotten passed 80% on my background check completion! This is HORRIBLE! I have never experienced this with any other onboarding hospital or workplace. I have a clean record, this is absolutely ridiculous!

This company should be audited by the federal government. Why on earth would any reputable company use this shame/fraud of a place? I am baffled how they are still in business. They claimed they could not verify my employment at a company that I am still currently employed at. Tuesday is my last day and I was supposed to start my job next Monday, however, I guess I need to find employment with a company that does not use this company. They are hurting families and they do not care. UPDATE, I just received a message stating that my review has been flagged. It seems this company does not believe in the First Amendment, nor do they want any negative information about them exposed. They are going to remove my review. I have copied their response and I will share it on other sites. This just proves my point about this company. First they took away my job, now they are taking away my voice.

I was sent to HireRight for a background screening for a very important career change. I only have two companies on my required employment history; my previous 1099 role and my current 1099 role. I provided HireRight on 3/28/2023 with their requested proof of self employment. 3/29/2023, I receive an automated email from HireRight stating I provided unacceptable documents for both companies. The same day, I provided proof again via upload, fax, and email. 3/30/2023, I received another email stating I provided unacceptable documents, but for only one company, which happens to be my current company. I uploaded and emailed proof again the same day. Just now, 3/31/2023, I received another email stating I am still providing unacceptable documents for my current company. I have provided my starting contract from 2018, proof that I am CURRENT 1099/self employee, copies of my 1099s, IRS transcripts, Schedule Cs, proof of recent payments, and so much more. I have reached out via phone, fax, email, and online chat with no resolution, as I am sometimes on hold up to two hours at a time to speak with a representative. I am not sure what else to do here when I have provided all of the proof I have. After reading reviews for HireRight, I'm very nervous this will be a never ending battle and I will lose my chance at this amazing career change. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can not imagine why big and serious companies use a company like HIRERIGHT! This guys are a big joke and should be avoided like a plague! They couldn’t verify my public record from one county out of 4-5 counties I have lived at. I went to the county myself and obtained the records and yet HIRERIGHT rejected the records I obtained from the Sheriff’s Department because it’s not obtained by them. I have never been in any kind of trouble with the law. Now my background screening is stuck at 83% and I’m at risk of losing the new job opportunity and becoming jobless because I already gave my previous employer a 2 week notice because of this incompetent company. I HATE THIS COMPANY!!!!

Absolutely the worst customer service. On hold for over an hour and half. They have me doing their work to verify employment. They are LAZY! I wish I didn’t have to deal with them.

If I could give zero stars, I would. First they claimed they called my school for an education verification. Registrar says no one has called. Registrar said they sent over a fax to HireRight (per my request), HireRight says they haven’t received it. This could potentially cost me my new job as they completed my background check before I could upload the transcripts- that I told HireRight I was waiting for. Now, I have to dispute my check, which could take up to 30 days according to their literature. My start date is 3 weeks. I can’t get a guarantee that my submitted documents are enough or that my rework will be done in time. Why use this company if you’re just going to do the work yourself? Update: the school has let me know that they’ve sent the verification information now two times and HireRight still contends that they never received it. I’m not sure why they can’t get anyone on the phone or through email, the school has been responsive to me.

An absolutely horrible experience dealing with HireRight. They come asking for HR contacts and other information piecemeal, sit on those information provided and get back nearly 2 weeks later asking you to find those old documents yourself instead of contacting the HR person you provided nearly 2 weeks earlier for needed information. The 'researchers' don't appear to be doing their job and they definitely do not 'work diligently' as they claim. The whole experience has been time wasting, mentally taxing and emotionally frustrating. Definitely not a good start for any new hire.

This company is horrible. I would advise no one to ever use this company. In fact, it would be best to refuse your background check and have the employer use a different company. Under no circumstances should anyone consider using this company. The website does not work. Phones are never answered. DO NOT USE. This company is terrible.
