This terrible company left a voicemail requesting employment verification and gave the wrong extension. It was also very difficult to make out what they were saying, something along the lines of: "Give me a call back a 19@bU61 extension a82uj5t!8) again that's l*jq62jY extension j&^#!3" Train your personnel better. I have not given you call back since your employee's cant give valid information. And if you reply to this asking me to submit some more detail to your email, that's further proof that you are nothing but a terrible managed con-company. Edit 4/18: I’m convinced this company is ran by illiterate bots.

If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. HireRight is the worst employment verification company that I have ever dealt with. I'm an HR Director so you can imagine that I get quite a few verification requests. Never have I spoken to someone that actually speaks English. This company must off shore to India. I have nothing against that, however, if you are calling people in the United States then a requirement for the job SHOULD be to be able to speak English, clearly and concisely. When they leave call back numbers, they speed up their speaking and I can't even make out the numbers most of the time. Employee names are butchered and it makes my job that much harder when I have to spend time trying to track the AssureHire people down so that I can provide the information that is needed. I, as the head of HR, will never considered HireRight as an option for a background check company. I have no idea how big companies deal with them at all.

This is one of the worst companies you'll ever have to deal with. They can't even verify the SSN of normal tax payers lol. So what do you do? Get on a 3-4 hour hold just to talk to someone. Seriously who works here? Do you guys have one single agent or what's going on?

It is beyond me that people are still using Hire right as a reputable company to verify information. My story: My background check was sent off by the hire right via the hiring company on 03/20/23 The expected return date was supposed to be no later than 03/27. Today is April 11. I contacted Hire right on April the 5th. They told me they were waiting on Dupage County of Illinois courts. They stated that they had talked with them personally and was told that the remaining report will be back the next day on the 6th. Could not get in contact with hire right in the 6th but to no one’s surprise. The background check still hadn’t updated. On April 10th. I decided to contact Dupage County myself. What they told me was very disturbing. No such background check had been requested by hire right. I’m fact the last background check requested was 5 months ago from a previous employer. This information was again verified via email when I spoke directly with the courts who handles background checks. They also told me that they had no such conversation or communication with hire right. I contacted hire right and relayed this information. I was then told that they needed 48 hours to look into the matter to see if they can expedite it. They will let me know their decision. You need 48 hours to see if expediting is possible? How about it’s fast approaching a month and there has been no resolution. Big companies definitely need to look into other means of companies for background verification because hire right isn’t it

Everything went wrong i.e. lack of engagement with business, slow processing of background checks, delayed billing process - Hireright sent us 12 bills a year later then added a collection notice. Look at the low reviews and it seems to not get any better. We are done with Hireright.

I don't understand why anyone would hire this company to do background checks, you can't talk to anyone and when you do get someone after 2 to 3 hour wait on the phone they do not speak clear English. They ran a criminal check in San Bernardino County, CA and I have never even been there. They added a last name that I have never used. So unprofessional. The report they send doesn't even make sense. They need to be more personable and the pull downs need to have better answers or a place you can write in the correct information. I feel like a robot did this and no human even looked at it.

how are they in business? actually can't believe this company is being used by big corps.

AWFUL company. The incompetence of these individuals is jarring. The process has been dragging on for nearly a month, it is ridiculous. My starting date is around the corner and they continually demand more documents that have already been submitted more than once. I submit what they ask, a representative says it is sufficient and then the next day they say I need to submit again. It has been the most exhausting experience of my life. The entire interview process was simpler than this. I cannot believe that companies are still using this service. I have spoken to a recruiter friend of mine that said she has NEVER had a smooth experience hiring through hire right and that they are changing providers. I can only hope that more firms do the same
