Incompetent scam of a company, jeopardizing peoples jobs and offers of employment due to their lack of accuracy, and then constantly reporting inaccurate information. It was reported by them that I have a felony theft charge in which never has occurred on my record. I was able to get the documents directly from the Koker court where they supposedly got the same documents from and less than five minutes to verify that they were incorrect. I’ve been waiting for my background to check to be complete since August 29 when I initiated today is October 4 and I’m just getting a report. they couldn’t verify my employer I provided 10 years of IRS tax transcripts do not have a resolution. This company is absolutely ridiculous and these major company should not use them based off of these numerous reviews from multiple candidates, stating the same thing this company needs to be shut down.

This company is the worst! Employers need to think twice before hiring this company! Is sad to see how companies miss good talents and valuable candidates because of the horrible work of HireRight...

I accepted a offer for a position in early August. The company submitted a HireRight background check shortly afterward. On August 30th my hiring manager reaches out and says the HireRight background check is 84% complete -- it's just pending a criminal background check in San Bernadino County, California, a place I've never stepped foot in! My hiring manager also assures me the background check has been expedited and there is nothing to worry about. On September 14th I called HireRight to check on the status of my background check and got ahold of a representative. They said that the background check was still pending San Bernardino County, but they could expedite the process. Today I got a call from my recruiter saying the hiring manager is going to move on and start interviewing other candidates because the background check is taking too long. I bought a house for this job and changed my kid's school. Thanks for losing my dream job HireRight!

I have been waiting for a job for 3 weeks because of this company. The company I want to work for assured me I would be hired by the 15th. It's the 29th and still waiting on my background. In my career I have worked on military bases, Lockheed Martin, and nuclear power plants. My background is spotless, what is this company doing? How much worse of a job can they do. I won't even tell you about my wife's experience as a nurse with this company. Absolutely terrible.

This co. is a bad joke. I've never had to deal with such a inefficient background check service since I joined the workforce so many years ago. They don't even try to reach out to previous employers, They basically had me doing their homework for them. Can't believe companies actually give these people money for their crappy services.

I was waiting on a background check to start a contract position with a client. Gave them my information and any additional information that they asked for and then heard nothing from them. Called on an almost daily basis to check the status and it was stagnant for 2 weeks. I have never had to wait this long for a background check; at most it was completed in a couple of business days because there is nothing on my record. I called to get more information about why my background check was delayed. I was informed that they were waiting on a court record for a 10 year criminal record search......ok no problem right? Wrong.....I found out that the record they were waiting on was from my birthplace in California....a place I haven't been to in over 25 years......now why would they need records from them if the criminal record search only goes back 10 years and I've lived in my current state since then? And then they had the audacity to say the company ordered the report from CA.....no they didn't, these people are just incompetent, and because of them I lost out on work.

Delay in report and cannot give a reason. When you contact via chat you get "Mary" who keeps on saying sorry and to contact the US number as the UK ones do not work. So if I want to speak to a human its an internationall call at my expense. All the reviews here are spot on, useless

Um, yeah no!!! Just got offered a job that I applied for as a receptionist and instead they claim I would be good for sales and that's not what I applied for! Then I give them my info and person and now they're like use this site to do a background check. Reading the reviews, I did what I do best, fliiped the info! The company I applied to, I just found out has a BBB letter F and apparently this Hireright company is right there with them. Thank you all for your reviews and honesty! Let's keep eachother safe! Glad I cross referenced before giving this Hireright company my info.
