If I could give NO stars, I would. Got to be the worst company going, almost cost my son his very first job out of Uni. It took HireRight THREE MONTHS, yes three months to do his screening, they just do not understand plain English. When someone says UNPAID VOLUNTARY work experience, they DO NOT get pay slips, and they DO NOT have a contract. I get Hireright is American, but surely after about 10 phone calls, several emails and numerous texts, they could work out what UNPAID means, as it is, after 3 whole months of delay, they have left a gap in his report because they say the candidate could not supply supporting evidence of their work contract. FGS its ridiculous, even the company employing him got in touch to explain UNPAID means NO MONEY, therefore NO PAYSLIPS!! I would never recommend this company, what should have been an exciting time in his life, has left my son stressed and on medication because of the constant banging our heads against a brick wall because of this organisation's complete incompetence. I have posted this review all over social media to warn others not to use them too. And .... cue the crap automated response from this god awful company in 3, 2 1 .... there it is !!!

How can this company improve they can improve by speeding up their check it's been a week and they still don't have my background completed I'm supposed to be starting a new job on October 30th and now I'm regretting my decision my background is completely clean I've never been in trouble and because of this company's incompetent workers a lot of people are out of a job because their trying to dig stuff up an someone when they know fully well their not going to find anything especially if people run searches on themselves this company comes up with so many excuses this is why I regret giving them my ss number who knows what this site is capable of

Terrible company & very bad experience, they totally deserve the 1.1 star. Responded via email to their questions & they said there's no response from candidate?? Also they said that the salary bank statement doesn't have employer's stamp, excuse me? Bank statement is issued by bank not the employer. They are not professional at all! I feel they themselves should be background checked first of all. They should not be called HireRight but HireWRONG!!

Our company was utilized (or forced) and strong-armed by government contract to require an updated check once per year. The checks require a point system of documention, and this generally suffices with two documents, for example, a passport and licence. HireRight however requested a minimum of 4 documents, including selfie style photo and more information which no other company I've used has ever asked or had a right to ask for before - far too much personal information in this day and age. HireRight advised I could use a reference community form - then turned around after booking an appointment and submitting it and said they couldn't use it after first advising I could wasting more time. Two emails from customer service officers advised I could login to the portal to update documents which they then claimed after 60 days they are unable to accept more documents for the request and a new request would need to be complete - however they closed the portal in 47 days. Both of the above situations I asked for clarification on policy and information from the website to support their arguments which they ignored and did not reply. Emails passed between chain replies indicated many emails being responded to from India and the possibilty of China with one email being returned as YYYY-MM-DD Why government services are forcing the utilization of this service when it could be provided by our own government organizations that already provide the service and instead rather send our private information to overseas enterprises? It is possible to use our identification and register sim cards in India for use by scammers - when it is registered with our details - there is no way to confront the scammers using them. Beware of another attack on the citizens with forced indication of digital ID. Due note - the amount of 1 star reviews of this company also lends credence to the fact that customer service is not and has never been the goal - which begs the questions - what does this company do well even with such a poor customer service level. HireRight Holdings is the parent company. Put 2 and 2 together.

Horrible company to deal with and when you call for support you'll talk to someone overseas. They have you jump through hoops to verify information they should be able to easily verify. Not to mention I got a secret government clearance with no issues at all. Worst experience ever.

Adding to the consistently poor ratings for this company. They were supposed to be checking a dbs for me ... they recommended an app for digital id verification that didn't work. Then they told me I'd need to sort that out with the app provider myself. Hireright's web site is poor ... I had to ask to submit my documents in person ... the site didn't give any information on where to do this.

Lost a job due to incorrect information reported on criminal background information. They also said couldn't verify a previous employer. They never contacted that employer for the information. Company's should not use them. Never had this happen on other jobs that did a background check.

HireRight is a horrible company. People and companies should stop using this company as they cause good employees good job opportunities. HireRight did my background check and came up with dozens of LIES. I always keep track of my records and what HireRight said they "Found" were complete lies. To this day they are still "Looking" into my file. To this day they are STILL calling my current employer. I gave them all the information they requested, uploaded it on their website and HireRight told my potential new employer I hadn't given them anything. HireRight doesn't even check on the information they requested. They later realized that yes I did upload the requested information. Its IMPOSSIBLE to contact HireRight. You call them and it goes straight to voicemail. And when they leave you a voicemail good luck deciphering it as ALL the voicemails my boss got had terrible interference. HireRight is a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE company. HireRight sees all these terrible reviews and yet does nothing to change because they DON'T CARE. The BBB and FTC warn about this terrible company. HireRight is just a horrible company.
