This is the most annoying background experience I have ever been through. I provided all the information requested and no further information was requested and here I am 3 weeks later and no change in status in 15 days. I called and was told that they were waiting on the county for my criminal background, which of course there is none, and when I asked what county they were waiting on the representative didn’t know. If you are involved in your companies onboarding process run away as fast as you can. They don’t follow up and if you call they cannot verbally give you any information. I was required to give a star to leave this review otherwise it would be zero.

Absolutely useless and terrible service. I had to conduct a background check for my current employer using this service. Long story short - steer away from this company if you're able to do so. I had no choice but went through. First red flag of this background check was spelling issues and another typos in the first emails. That a was a bit strange for me so I first took the emails as a spam. After call with HR, I obliged and filled in all information. It took 3-4 days as I had to provide additional information or scans of documents. It was funny since you could add those documents at first iteration. Unfortunately I cannot tell the whole truth since my last review was marked by the HireRight and taken down. Let's just State Possible Arrogant Messages, which has something to do with that. In the end, if I ever need to do some background check for organisation in foreign country, I would ask for more reputable company. It's worth noting that I had to do the background check even I was already hired and since you need to fill in everything correctly, I had to put my true current employer.

This is the most inept and ineffective company I've ever dealt with. They have no ability to handle international background checks, sticking to a narrow list of required documents and lacking any out-of-the-box thinking. It's baffling how they remain in the market. They’re not just useless—they’re also incredibly unprofessional.

NO STAR, this is truly a horrible experience. The platform is one way with no engagement for the new hire, communication is through a "do not reply" email address. I uploaded documents exactly as prescribed, they were quickly rejected, the request for these documents was re-issued through the "do not reply" email. I re-uploaded the documents this time highlighting the requested info, again rejected and no explanation. Where can I go? Prospective employees should never be treated like this and I will be making my opinion known to the hiring company directly. I am adding this review as a warning to HR Teams thinking of using this service that you will lose people at this stage, have you factored the cost of advertising, candidate screening, interviews, medicals to then lose people at this stage.

I’ve experienced the worst onboarding process of my life due to HireRight. They failed to provide a functional platform to complete a basic criminal background check. Whenever I called for assistance, they repeatedly directed me back to the hiring company, which I contacted multiple times. I’ve been stuck in an endless loop between HireRight and the company, with no resolution in sight.

If I could give negative stars, I would. HORRIBLE COMPANY TO VERIFY EMPLOYMENT. No one speaks English, different information communicated with each phone call. DO NOT use HireRight. They super suck.

I do not have the words or the lowest possible star rating to give this company... and as a christian it would not be very appropriate of me to share the unfiltered thoughts that i just typed out and erased after realizing that I would not be representing myself or my Lord and Savior adequately... my grandma told me growing up "that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all".

Summary: this is the WORST auditing and background check firm on planet Earth! This is the MOST incompetent thing on planet Earth! No word can even express the lack of professionalism and respect that HireRight has! HireRight agents speak to applicants with disrespect and arrogance as if the applicant’s sole future is dependent on them! To Hiring Companies: you’d better STOP dealing with HireRight! Otherwise you would LOSE really talented people! To Applicants: try to ask your hiring company to try different firm as HireRight have data security concerns. HireRight have utterly inexperienced teams. Not to mention that the teams conducting background checks are located in India with very poor English! Furthermore, the Indian based auditors have little or no knowledge about the rules, laws, privacy rights and regulations in developed countries! I am not even quite sure if they are GDPR compliant as their website does not mention that! But if your hiring company forced you to deal with this disastrous firm, make sure to ask for PURGING your data from their system *as soon as* your final report is finished! A quick search online reveals embarrassing news and reviews, and possibly previous breaches! - Data Broker Giants Hacked by ID Theft Service - Data Broker Hackers Also Compromised NW3C Conclusion: no ONE should deal with HireRight, be it hiring companies or applicants! There is NOT a single positive comment or review about HireRight in the entire Internet! The way HireRight agents speak to applicants as if they were a national security agency; and their tone sounds an indirect threat to people’s future!
