We would like to clarify that whenever we conduct background checks, we do not charge applicants or ask them to pay for the verification process itself. However, in some cases, the source may require the applicant to provide an official document (such as a duplicate transcript) in lieu of verifying by phone or email. In those instances, there may be a cost associated with obtaining the document, based on the institution’s policies, not HireRight’s.
