HORRIFIC "INSURANCE"!
Allow me to introduce you to what YOU NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM WHICH IS-OSCAR "HEALTHCARE"! I tried REALLY hard from day 1 in January of 2026, to NOT write this review, but after everything I have encountered, including the reps.-I have absolutely no choice now. Here I am, 2nd Primary Care Dr. later (it's only May, but I had to switch due to many of the 1st Primary office's negligence), & I'm STILL having issues, continuously. This "healthcare" if you dare call it that, is on the poverty level of disrespectful. If you must choose this insurance, pick a Primary Care doctor after researching them very thoroughly. The "customer service" lack people skills, English, (you are constantly asking every agent "what"? because of their language barriers), empathy, education & naturally their hold time is ridiculous. I have wasted SO much of my money, my patience, my time off from my place of employment, my gas, even my mileage...that I am done with this headache of a "company" until next upcoming enrollment with my company in September. I'll pay the extra few dollars for the quality I deserve. How stupid of me to forget. Quality over inconsistency.

Denial to an MRI
I rarely write reviews, but this experience with Oscar Health has been extremely frustrating and, honestly unacceptable.
I have been dealing with severe neck and head pain for over 5 months—serious enough that I cannot work or even drive properly. My doctor ordered an MRI as a necessary diagnostic step.
I followed every procedure required. I scheduled my MRI 2+ weeks in advance specifically to allow time for authorization. After waiting in pain all that time, my appointment was canceled because Oscar claimed they never received the authorization.
With a second appointment and 2 weeks additional time, instead of resolving the issue quickly, they delayed things further by sending questions back to my doctor again by mail while I continued to suffer.
After more than 3 weeks of delays, they denied my MRI, and I had to pay the sum from my pocket.
Let’s be clear:
This is not an optional procedure.
No one pays significant money for an MRI “just in case.”
This was medically necessary, ordered by a physician, and delayed and denied.
I have now filed a formal grievance and reimbursement request.
If you are considering Oscar, understand that when you actually need care, delays and administrative issues can leave you without support when it matters most.

I've had them for a year
I've had them for a year. Every time, EVERY TIME, I try to log in, it tells me my SSN and member id isn't listed under an account. So I call, the representative gets me in, says they'll get it sorted- only for it to happen again. I've checked, double checked and triple checked it's accurate on my end.

Difficult to obtain information
It is difficult to reach a person at Oscar. When I used their internal chat system, the responses from real people are still copy-pasted from templates and don't actually answer the questions I've asked. They cannot or will not provide information about the expected cost of specific services. Oscar members should not be expected to first receive the medical service, AND THEN receive a bill. We should have transparency of expected amounts to be paid so that we are informed and prepared for medical costs.

Oscar hid details of their formulary…
Oscar hid details of their formulary deep in their plan documents and did not display them on their website. Then, they proceeded to disrupt my continuity of care and deny all variations of a medication combination I was stable on for five years, despite multiple appeals. DO NOT USE OSCAR.

I was hoping they would be better
Constant declines with no detail. Call Oscar and they confirm hearing aids are a covered benefit. Doctor submits a pre auth using every hearing aid code and all come up not covered. They completely suck, like every other insurance company. They wanted to be different but only invested hope into their strategy. Hope is not a strategy. You will die guessing which code you should submit while they avoid paying anything.

Hi Kim, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’ve escalated your message to our Care Team supervisors who will follow up to provide you more support.

It’s such a frustrating experience…
It’s such a frustrating experienced dealing with them. I have a problem getting the medication prescribed to be covered, so I asked for a generic one. I can’t find anyone to call me back. If you call customer service you’ll find they outsource overseas and all they do is tell you to contact your doctor. And when asked to speak to a supervisor they’ll tell you there isn’t any. So now I have to suffer and hope after multiple messages someone returns my call. I can’t even switch to bother agency for a year because of my employer. This is a terrible way to run a business
