This insurance is just a nightmare! For once I had rotator cuff and bicep surgery in November. In May I had meniscus surgery, but it failed. I struggle walking. As I started physical therapy, I received a notice of denial shortly after the end of the year 2022. It was not properly specified, and I had eight sessions for my leg and six sessions for my arm. After rotator cuff surgery you need physical therapy for 3 to 4 month minimum. I learnt later that the insurance made a mistake and thought I would not have coverage for them. Finally a letter dated January 4, 2023 reversed the denial. But I received the letter on January 17, 2023. It stated I was approved for the period December 7, 2022 through January 31, 2023. So that gave me 13 days left once I received the letter. I am now having three sessions until I run out of it. Yes, three sessions, which is pretty much useless. yesterday I received another notice, another denial. My previous physical therapy had applied for more physical therapy until March 30, 2023. The denial stated the findings don’t support the need for physical therapy. Further on in another section, it stated that it seems like a duplicate. Physical therapy does not reevaluate until you have at least 12 sessions. I never got them, because it was denied! I presume my old physical therapy send the original first evaluation again. They have nothing else, and I cannot make much improvement after six or eight patients. What do they expect! Since I changed the physical therapy place, they evaluated me Thursday and I hope they will get more therapy, but I have my doubt after all what I went through. We are also still fighting for another MRI for my foot. Now comes the best part! The doctor was trying to get injections for my knee, which is completely shot and I will need knee replacement, but we’re trying to delay it. The injections were denied - among the reasons/ suggestions : I should try PT therapy!!!! Well, give it to me - I want it so badly! While I have a lot of issues, so far I get denied pretty much everything - I am being neglected! I might be forced to apply for disability because of a miserable uncaring insurance!!!

Worst insurance. Providers hate them too. Don’t waste any money on getting this health insurance cs you will end up paying cash for most things anyways.

Oscar is literally the worst health insurance company I've ever had. Not only did they not cover my claim for an emergency ambulance ride, they lied and said they were covering a portion of it. Not one but SIX DIFFERENT PEOPLE there lied to me on their chat stating they were going to pay some or all of this bill. Then, a full year and four months after the service they deleted my claim and created a NEW CLAIM just so they could deny that one. Of course my appeal was denied. Very shady and useless company, will never use them or any affiliates of theirs ever again. Scammers and thieves, that's Oscar.

Their current commercial states “no hidden charges.” NOT TRUE! I have over a $1200 lab work bill which is now in collections. I have made multiple attempts, and spoke with Oscar reps, with absolutely no success. I’m very disappointed. Especially, because I’m very protective of my credit, and I have a high score. Never been late on anything. They will probably get on here, and reply with a sorry, and still leave me with the bill. Sorry doesn’t pay bills. If they pay it, I return on here and post it, but I doubt they will. I’m stuck with a bill.

Doctors take weeks, even months to get an appointment. Mental health farmed out to Optum, of whose counselors have questionable ethics and own personal problems. Optum have to wade through more online mess to get an appointment. Rates rose in 2022, but benefits cut! Customer service responds with a lot of gobblygook words without getting a direct answer. Changing health insurance this year.

Constantly charging full price when I see the primary's nurse practitioner, AND charged me for September and I cancelled in August. It shows cancelled. Yet they charged me and it's been a week and they refuse to refund me. They give me the runaround on the phone telling me the payment hasn't processed even though it has through my bank and they have my money. 183.00 is a lot of money to just take and not give back.

I had to go to the ER for a stomach emergency (cost of $900) and it's been OVER 9 MONTHS that I haven't been reimbursed (yes, it is supposed to be covered under my plan). Every single time I call Oscar to try to fix it, they say "Ok your claim has been submitted." or "Ok your claim has been escalated". I then check in 2 weeks later and the staff tell me "someone has cancelled your claim". Worst health insurance experience ever, just cancelled my membership today and wanted to spread the word so other people don't fall victim to this run-around scheme. You'll end up paying for your own medical bills, on top of paying for health insurance

Been trying to get my prescription for about a month now. No end in site. Endless hoops to jump through.
