I would give no stars if I could. Compounded medicine is not fda approved and dangerous. There is no warning before hand that your using Compound pharmacies. No one wants unsafe medicine and thats exactly what they get. Its not fda approved and there is no bad side effects reporting. Phentermine is fda approved but once it's mixed with who knows what and at who knows amounts it's poison. Henry meds is a complete scamCompounded medications, while sometimes necessary, can pose significant risks due to potential quality issues, incorrect dosages, and lack of FDA oversight. Examples include contamination, incorrect ingredient concentrations, and errors in mixing, which have led to serious injuries and even deaths. Here's a breakdown of the risks: Lack of FDA Approval: Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved, meaning they haven't undergone the same rigorous safety and effectiveness testing as commercially available medications. Quality Concerns: Compounding pharmacies may not always adhere to the same quality standards as traditional pharmacies, leading to issues like contamination, incorrect ingredient amounts, or the use of unapproved substances. Errors in Compounding: Human error, like selecting the wrong ingredient or using incorrect dilutions, can result in dangerous overdoses or ineffective treatments. Contamination: Compounding pharmacies can be vulnerable to contamination, especially when dealing with sterile products like injectables, as seen in the New England Compounding Center outbreak. Lack of Standardization: Compounded medications, unlike their commercially available counterparts, are not standardized. This means that the same formulation may vary slightly from one batch to another, which can be problematic for patients who need consistent dosing. Examples of horror stories: New England Compounding Center: A fungal meningitis outbreak in 2012, linked to contaminated steroid injections, resulted in numerous deaths and illnesses. CAPS Pharmacy: A 2004 incident involving a compounded cardioplegia solution with incorrect concentrations caused brain damage in a two-year-old undergoing heart surgery. Buddy's story: A child died after receiving a compounded medication with the wrong active ingredient due to a mixing error. Weight loss drug errors: Recent reports highlight dosing errors and other issues with compounded weight loss medications like semaglutide, including overdoses and adverse events.
