I 100% can see why I was recommended this platform
I was recommended to and have been recommending HelloDivorce and it's very easy to see why. It's Turbo Tax for divorce. It takes a complicated and potentially VERY costly process and makes it quite simple to DIY-it. The cons are: 1) Lots of upsales. The questions you can get answers to from a human for free are very limited and they're quick to refer you to someone you have to hire 2) It really only works for fairly simple, straightforward divorces where communication between spouses is pretty good. We agreed on almost everything but there were still times we needed more help than HelloDivorce could give. 3) If your spouse suddenly stops responding at any point in the middle of the divorce process (mine took 14mos) you can file a default judgement divorce, but you have to start all over again and pay HelloDivorce all over again as if it's a brand new divorce case. But the list of pros is much longer: 1) The whole divorce cost less than $5k (the average 1 month attorney retainer) 2) I always knew exactly what was going on with my divorce 3) It all felt very much in my hands and not at all up to a random judge or court to make huge sweeping decisions for our family 4) Knowledgeable customer service 5) Simple, intuitive and easy to use interface 6) If my spouse had been more cooperative it could've easily been finalized in just over 6 months 7) HUGE shoutout to my coordinator Charlene who was excellent, and I can't sing the praises of their Divorce Real Estate Finance Expert Chris Freemott enough. He really went above and beyond with me.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and honest review. We're thrilled to hear that you found our platform intuitive and empowering, and we're especially glad that Charlene and Chris were able to provide such standout support throughout your process. We'll be sure to pass along your kind words! We also want to acknowledge the frustrations you shared. You're absolutely right — Hello Divorce is designed to keep costs low and control in your hands, and we’re able to do that by offering a la carte services. That way, you only pay for the support you actually need, whether that's legal coaching, document prep, or expert guidance like you received from Chris one of our real estate experts. We’re sorry to hear that your spouse’s lack of engagement created unexpected delays and complications. When that happens, the path forward — like filing for a default — does involve different paperwork and a different legal process altogether. That’s why we had to transfer you to a new service flow. We understand how that can feel frustrating, but please know that even though your divorce didn’t end up being as simple or “DIY” as it might have started, our team is proud to have successfully helped you get divorced. Thank you again for trusting us during such a difficult time. We wish you the very best moving forward in your next chapter! Warmly, The Hello Divorce Team
