On December 3, 2023, I was shopping at HEB #48. I had just come from a funeral and was emotionally drained. I bought $80 worth of groceries, inserted my Master Card and got to the breezeway. The employee ran out and yelled, " Ma'am, you're walking off with $80 worth of groceries!" I could have died of embarrassment as if I were stealing. Many people heard her. I had put the card in upside down. I understand she was doing her job, but employees need to be advised how to deal with a situation like this, giving the customer the benefit of the doubt. IM SO SICK OF HEB!
IM SO SICK OF HEB! From buying meat that stinks the next day when I open it, find chicken with all big wads of fat underneath the bottom of it so you can’t see it, buying fruit that was frozen and you take it home and cut it open and it’s brown! Come on!!!
Just got back from the grocery store opened up my gizzards to make stuffing for Thanksgiving, checking them out, and there’s green hard skins on them, blood padding for extra weight. Says a pound and a half most of its fat skins and that pad of blood!! We need compensation here in Texas! And the white strawberries inside are my favorite!
I took a photo? I’ll use it on Yelp I guess

HEB isn’t what it once was
HEB isn’t what it once was. I’ve shopped there my entire life. No more. The service and customer support is terrible. If you file a complaint to corporate, they pass the buck to the store manager who will place the blame on you. HEB needs a cultural change.

Harassment at HEB
Two days ago, I made a report to your customer service representative about an embarrassing and highly irritating experience I had in your store located at 10100 Beechnut in Houston, Texas.
The person I spoke to was female. She got my phone number, my name and my email address and promised to have some members of her team reach out to me. Nobody has done so. I do not care about that. What I do not want is a repeat of what I experienced.
I had gone to your store. It was about 7:00 in the evening (pm). I made purchases totalling just over $33:00 ( thirty three dollars).
I paid with my card, a mastercard. I have my receipt. My transaction took place at 7:30 pm. My items were bagged. I had some in bags in a basket I shopped with. Other bags were held with my right hand.
I had a few extra bags. I headed toward the exit door. My intention was to rebag my items properly at the basket stand adjacent to the exit door.
I stopped next to the baskets and was about to place my basket on top of the others when I noticed a young female staff out of breath standing beside me. She had been running after me, apparently. I was curious. So I asked her what was wrong.
She instructed me not to take the shopping basket out of the exit door. I assured her that I had no intention too. She could see that my basket was on top of the heap of other baskets in the self checkout area. I began to arrange my items in the extra bags I had with me.
But the young female staff would not leave. She stood beside me and repeated what she had just said over and over. I was beginning to get impatient. At this point a woman, Hispanic and apparently the female staff's superior approached us muttering something.
It then became clear to me that the young female staff was sent after me by that woman, her superior whom I had encountered in that store in two separate incidents that occured in previous visits to the store. I was quite upset.
I made my feelings known to that woman. I did not want to have anything to do with her. She was walking toward us. She took my advice to keep away and turned back.
I felt embarrassed. Suddenly I was a subject of interest to customers and HEB workers alike. People were under the impression that something was wrong. Yet I was only an ordinary shopper like any other. And I had not done anything wrong.
I was upset not only for this reason but because that same woman had caused me embarrassment in that store on two previous occasions. She is in the habit of stalking me and sending staff after me. For no reason.
I am black African. Whites and hispanic visitors to that store do not go through my kind of experience. After I left the store, I called to speak to the Store Manager. His name, I suppose, starts with an H.
That Store Manger did not make things better when I complained that I felt I was being profiled. He did nit share my view. Rather he was persuading me to forgive the action of his staff because his store was a "high theft store". And that whatever took place happened because I was "making a move toward the door".
Whatever he meant, what he was trying to insinuate or imply, I still cannot fathom. Well, I told him, I am a citizen of the United States of America. I am protected by the constitution. I will not tolerate profiling or harassment by staff of HEB. I promised to take legal action if this happens to me again in an HEB store. I believe I will.

No Opportunity for the Older People
Probably one of the worse places to get hired. I believe the age factor plays a role. I have applied 40 times at HEB and never been hired. I know I have passed my interviews but still not hired. If you are not the cute kid, lookout older people, because you do not stand a chance. Was a longtime customer of HEB. I think will take my business elsewhere.

Nasty tasting meat
My complaint is on HEB’s meat on Goliad and Military Dr. We bought two racks of ribs and we barbecued them and some of them had a very nasty taste. I don’t know if it’s the preservative they use, but this is not the first time it’s happened. It’s really annoying and we just made up our mind that this is never going to happen to us again. We will just go to a meat market and buy our meat there from now on. You are a big company you can do better than that on your quality of meat. There are many other reviews on this same topic.

Previously HEB had a pharmacy app which worked flawlessly, used it all the time.
Now that they've Incorporated the store so I have to go to multiple steps just to get to the pharmacy.
Very disappointing that HEB would cut me off and make it difficult for me to use them so... I will stop using them.

Muy engañosos
Bastante mal.
