About Hear and Play Music

At Hear and Play Music and the Gospel Music Training Center, our passion is helping musicians worldwide unlock the art of playing the piano by ear. Founded in 2000 by Jermaine Griggs, we have dedicated decades to teaching the dynamic skill of understanding and interpreting music through ear training, music theory, and recognizing patterns. Our focus is on soulful music genres that best express this art form, including gospel, jazz, blues, soul, R&B, and pop.We believe that playing by ear transcends traditional music learning methods, allowing musicians to experience and express music in a deeply personal way. Our specialized approach teaches students to hear recurring themes in songs and interpret them creatively on the piano.Over the years, we have reached and serviced more than 2 million musicians through various platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, our email newsletter, free lessons, comprehensive paid courses, and a personalized coaching program. Our resources are designed to cater to learners at different stages of their musical journey, from beginners to advanced players.Hear and Play Music and the Gospel Music Training Center is more than just a teaching platform; it's a community where musicians come together to share, learn, and celebrate the joy of music. Join us, and embark on a musical adventure that will transform the way you hear and play music.

The tech/communication is awesome
The tech/communication is awesome! I'm always getting reminders about opportunities to join a class or visit the replays. I appreciate that because I'm still learning WhatsApp. I haven't clicked on a non-working or incorrect link yet! Yay!

Great Piano Teaching Methods
The free workshop was very informative & I learned some free valuable tools in a hour that I haven’t learned over the course of 6 weeks in my current music lesson class. I am looking forward to my upcoming workshop to learn more tools that will help my piano skills & more about the Hear & Play Music program.

Pleasant Learning Experience
This piano workshop was a pleasant experience. I enjoyed the user-friendly approach with a chord key learning pattern technique. I took notes, but I would have liked to immediately receive a recording of the workshop.

Hear & Play has always been interactive…
Hear & Play has always been interactive with their approach. They breakdown all the different levels of keyboard mastery. It's like driving a manual speedTransmission they can stay in first gear but the vehicle is made for 3rd gear and above. Ultimately Hear&Play wants you to experience 5th Gear and really soar with your talent!
