The website is primitive - I tried for thirty minutes to configure the choices and have given up. I'm sending to a couple in sympathy but the "greeting card assistant" insists on a) adding a name to the front of the card and b) formats the card with one name only, which is unacceptable. Then it doubled my order, and in Checkout, there is no way to edit the quantity. So start all over again. Nice selection of goods, betrayed by poor web management.

two stars is generous
two stars is generous. Arrived three days late with a smashed box and smashed inside basket. The contents are items you could buy at a local grocery store. Presentation awful. Reaching out to Customer Service several times and the only response was automated. Basically saying too bad it’s your male carriers problem now. So apparently they don’t insure their product. Complete waste of money.

Hi Rosemary, we’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and understand how upsetting this must be, especially given that the basket was meant to celebrate such an important milestone anniversary.
We completely understand your frustration regarding the delay, the lack of clear tracking updates, and the difficulty in getting the support you needed. When a gift of this significance and value does not arrive as expected, it can create unnecessary stress and disappointment, and we sincerely apologize for that.
While carriers can occasionally experience delays or delays in initial scanning during busy periods, we recognize that our communication should still leave customers feeling supported and informed throughout the process. We’re also sorry that our responses came across as impersonal and did not provide the reassurance or assistance you were looking for.
Your feedback has been shared with our customer service and logistics teams as we continue working to improve both communication and the overall customer experience. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns.

Beware of timing and condition
Don't bother. I order from here under the impression that they would deliver on the day I chose. Not even close. It was delivered 2 days later, with a broken tea pot. Currently working on a solution.
Edit: They had me collect pictures of the broken teapot and sent another teapot that was not broken. I understand these things can happen, just so embarrassing to put the bearer of a gift through this. Also, still unacceptable to represent that you will deliver on a specific day and then deliver two days later.
Response from Hazelton's Gift Baskets USAMay 15, 2026
Thank you for your feedback, and we sincerely apologize for the delay in your delivery and the broken teapot you received. We understand how disappointing it is when a gift does not arrive on the chosen date and is not in perfect condition.
Regarding the delivery timing, while we strive to meet specific date requests, factors such as high seasonal volumes can occasionally impact our transit times. However, receiving a damaged item is never acceptable, and we regret the frustration this has caused.
We understand you are currently working on a solution with our team. Please be assured that we are committed to resolving this for you and ensuring you are satisfied with the final outcome.

Wrote in to tell them the order was messed up and they claimed “ We always do our best to ensure every gift exceeds expectations. However, from time to time, substitutions may be necessary to make sure orders are delivered on time, especially when a particular item becomes unavailable or discontinued after our product listings have been published.”
It is very peculiar that strawberries, grapes, and sharp cheddar cheese became unavailable or discontinued.
They stated they would do nothing to fix the delivery.
Major BAIT AND SWITCH.
Very disappointed.

We want to sincerely apologize for the frustration caused by the significant differences between your custom selections and the delivered basket. It is clear that we failed to meet the standard of customization you expected, and we are sorry our previous response felt dismissive.
While our substitution policy allows for changes to ensure timely delivery, we understand that replacing specific items like strawberries and sharp cheddar without notice feels like a breakdown of the service we promised.
We are currently reviewing our fulfillment and communication processes to ensure that our commitment to customization is honored and that any necessary changes are better communicated.

Wrong Day/Items/Apology/Everything
I chose Hazelton's because everything looked customizable and I spent a long time choosing which items to order. The basket arrived on the wrong day; 4 of the items were missing; 1 was not replaced; 1 was replaced with something the recipient does not like; 2 were replaced with things she cannot eat. In addition, I was never notified about the replacements. Indeed the company sent me a list of everything that had been "delivered" that matched my original list completely—so I was under the mistaken impression that it had been done and could not understand why the recipient was not more happy with the basket. When I wrote to the company afterward, the rep kept citing their substitution policy. And saying sometimes in order to get things there on time they swap them out with other things. Which did not exactly apply here as the basket arrived one day early. They offered neither a full nor a partial refund, and refused to send any of the items that were missing. And they didn't even acknowledge they had done anything wrong in terms of notifications or promise to do better in future. They seemed to feel that sending me a wrong list of everything "delivered" was consistent with that substitution policy. Despite the beautiful web site and promises of customization, I will not order from this company again.

Thank you for your feedback. I want to sincerely apologize for the frustration caused by your recent experience. It is clear that we failed to meet the standards we set for ourselves, particularly regarding the accuracy of your order and our communication with you.
Regarding our substitution policy, while we do reserve the right to swap items of equal or greater value to ensure timely delivery, this is never intended to result in missing items or substitutions that disregard the recipient's needs. Most importantly, our policy should never be used as a reason to provide inaccurate delivery information. We understand that receiving a confirmation list that didn't match the actual contents was confusing and disappointing.
We are taking your comments to heart as a "be better" moment for our entire team. We are currently reviewing our internal notification procedures and how we explain our substitution policy to ensure we are being transparent and empathetic toward the care our customers put into their orders.
We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will use your experience to improve our service for the future.

A very disappointing experience
A very disappointing experience. EVERY item I had included in the basket was substituted with downgrades - cheaper wine, non-gourmet snacks, a different fruit (hard to believe that they couldn’t find grapes in the market so had to substitute with a pineapple). And they even substituted the expensive barrel container I had ordered with a cheap cutting board. If they’re not able to find the quality items one orders on their website even in a city like New York, then why do they even have them as options on the website? In addition, the delivery promises one business day, but my order was received after two business days. I was really excited to have found this gifting option online, but I don’t think I’ll be using them again. You think you’re gifting really high-quality stuff, but in most cases I’m sure the senders don’t even realize that everything was downgraded since it’s a gift received by someone else.

Hi Vijay, thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize that your experience did not meet expectations regarding the substitutions and delivery timing. While our policy allows for substitutions of equal or greater value when items are out of stock, we understand your disappointment with the specific items received. Additionally, our standard shipping methods provide target dates rather than guarantees, though we always strive for prompt delivery. We are committed to doing better and will use your comments to improve our quality control. We hope to have the chance to provide a better experience in the future.

Rotten Leaky Pears & Expired Food
The basket arrived on time but mu daughter said the pears were rotten and dripping and some of the snacks were expired. At $173..00 I do expect better
Response from Hazelton's Gift Baskets USADec 1, 2025
We’re truly sorry to hear about the condition of the pears and snacks in your basket. This is absolutely not the standard we aim to deliver, and we understand how disappointing this must have been—especially for a gift at this price point.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Your feedback helps us identify where things went wrong so we can address it with our team and prevent this from happening again. We sincerely apologize for this experience and appreciate you giving us the chance to make it right.
