The sharpener works great for standard, large bladed knives but fails to work with narrow bladed knives like steak, paring and pocket knives. The magnets actual pull the knife blade downward so the stones edge cannot contact the blade edge. Mounting the magnets higher in the block would have eliminated the problem. The roller and stones themselves work great, the block however is a fail.

The design and function works well on larger to medium chef knives. The functionality on small paring knives, boning and thin carving knives needs some improvement. By adding a small wood knife lift base at the same angles would provide more stability for the smaller width knife.

Great diamond disks, great mag base, poor case. I bought an extra for a gift. I have a competitors which has a better case, mag base with 4 angles and only one diamond disk, 4 ceramic disks and leather strop. Time will tell if Hatori is better.

Magnet block leaves a lot to be desired. Magnets are too weak and do not hold smaller knives adequately e.g. paring knives.

I thought the service was terrific. The team kept me well informed about the progress of shipping but I was a bit disappointed in the actual product when it arrived. I have an old Henkel knife in need of a better sharpener than the pull through I have been using. I had high hopes for your rolling sharpener but have not quite achieved the resurrection of my old knife.

The instruction could be more detailed as to how many passes on each side for grinding and then finishing. Also if used on a countertop or cutting board the rowing leaves black marks that are hard to clean up.

I think your sharpener is made with descent quality but in my opinion not a fine enough edge. You should provide two more stages of finer grit honing disc's to finish and polish the edge. Sincerely, Glenn
