The hosts were wonderful and had knowledge of the performance and did a fun trivia on the bus drive.
The venue was very nice.
Response from Happening Travel ClubAug 20, 2026
Sounds like the trip got off to a great start! Thank you for sharing your experience and for recognizing our hosts. We're glad their knowledge of the performance and the bus trivia added some extra fun to the journey, and it's great to hear you enjoyed the venue too. Those little touches are what can turn a ride to a show into part of the experience. We hope to have you with us again for another great outing!

We went to Wash DC for the countries…
We went to Wash DC for the countries 250th celebration. The tour guides Al and Richard were great. They were knowledgeable with the history of Savanah G. Williamsburg and Wash. DC.
They stopped about every 2 hours or less to use the restroom and stretch our legs. The accommodations were as advertised. The tour guides made sure the group stayed together when visiting historic sites. The lead tour guide had a big red umbrella. The rear tour guide stayed at the back of the pack to endure the group stayed together. That made us feel very comfortable.
The bus was very comfortable, and the driver was very professional and a good commentator.
They made sure our lawn chairs were set up the morning before the 4th of July fireworks
They paid close attention to every detail. They went in early to the hotels to make sure our pass keys to the room were ready when we arrived.
We were very impressed and made many friends on the trip.
I am going on 2 more multi day trips with Happening and look forward to the trips. We are also going on a day trip to see the play, "Hamilton " in Orlando. We went to another day trip with them, and it was flawless.
I have read negative reports on nextdoor. I answer all the negative reports with a glowing recommendation to Happening travel. The majority of the bad reports were from people who have never used their service.
Their prices are more reasonable than most travel companies. They are a 501 c 3 charitable organization and pass on the discounts to their members.

Thank you for such an incredible and detailed review! It means a great deal to hear how much you enjoyed the Washington, D.C. 250th celebration and that Al, Richard, and our driver made you feel so well looked after throughout the journey. We especially appreciate you noticing the little details, from the regular rest stops and hotel room keys to keeping everyone together at historic sites and making sure the lawn chairs were ready for the fireworks. Hearing that you made new friends, are already booked on more Happening trips, and continue recommending us to others is an enormous compliment. We're grateful for your confidence in Happening Travel Club and look forward to seeing you on Hamilton and your upcoming adventures!

Cruise Issues
I was interested in a cruise that was published for the Daily Sun Deals that go active today. I have searched for the link was supposed to give more details on the cruise that was published in the ad but the link never existed.
I also went to the Celebrity Cruise website and could not find that specific cruise.
I don't trust them at this point
Response from Happening Travel ClubJun 10, 2026
Dear Gary,
Thank you for your feedback.
We were disappointed to read your review, particularly as we do not appear to have any record of you traveling with us or purchasing this particular tour.
Regarding the website link, the page was intentionally taken offline once the available inventory associated with the promotion had sold out. We do this to avoid confusion and prevent prospective travelers from believing the offer is still available when it is not.
As for not finding the itinerary on the Celebrity Cruises website, Happening Travel Club specializes in creating unique hosted travel experiences that often combine a cruise with additional pre- and post-cruise land touring, sightseeing, accommodations, and group activities. As a result, our tour dates and overall itinerary frequently differ from the cruise sailing dates published directly by the cruise line, and the complete package would not be available for purchase through the cruise line's website.
We understand that when an offer is no longer available and the webpage has been removed, it can create confusion. However, this should not be interpreted as the offer being illegitimate. We have been operating group travel programs for years and work with established travel suppliers and cruise lines to create our itineraries.
We strive to provide accurate information and transparent communication regarding all of our tours. If you would like additional details about a specific itinerary, we would be happy to assist you directly.
Sincerely,
The Happening Travel Club Team

Problem with not being allowed to change date on day trip
I made a reservation for a day trip that our neighbors had already booked and wanted us to go on with them. I didn't realize there were two different dates for this trip. I booked the April trip, paid for it and never received any response from The Happening Club to my e mail that it was booked. I talked to our neighbor and they said they had booked the trip in March...they we're not going to be in town in April. I called The Happening Club and asked for them to check and see if they showed that I booked the trip. They checked and said they showed it booked for April. They said they do not respond when a trip is booked until a week before the travel date. I explained to them that I was suppose to go with our neighbors and had booked the wrong month...that our neighbors are going on the March trip. I asked if I could change to the March trip if there was still space available. The man I spoke to said he would check if that could be done and text me. The text came today and said they do not make changes. The original trip would need to be cancelled and I could apply for a refund only if I bought cancellation insurance. And unfortunately I did not. I don't understand why a change cannot be made when the trips are still so far out and space is available on the correct one. I have taken many day trips using other companies and they have never had a problem with changes. I understand the policy on no refunds if you cancel, but do not understand the reasoning for no changes.
After reading the response from The Happening Club, l must add that I was NEVER told that the March trip was FULL. If that had been said from my original request, all would have been understood and I would not have felt it necessary to give a one star review. I never asked for a refund, I only asked to change dates. Had they told me the March trip was sold out the conversation would have ended there. Sounds like we had a total miscommunication problem. I don’t think being a NonProfit has anything to do with how people communicate with each other.

Dear Barbara,
First, we are deeply distressed with your review of a trip you have not even traveled on for our 501(c)(3) nonprofit travel club. We would like to kindly remind you that we are not a traditional travel agency, and we do not plan trips in the same way a commercial agency would. Our trips are designed to support and raise funds for other 501(c)(3) nonprofit charities.
Second, in your 1-star review, you mentioned that you made reservations for an April departure, while your friends booked the March 30 Sarasota trip, which is a different departure. Unfortunately, this means you were never scheduled to travel together, as the bookings were made for separate dates. We understand how this could be frustrating, but we are unable to take responsibility for bookings made on different travel dates.
Third, the March 30 departure has been fully booked and closed for quite some time. As a result, we were unable to move your reservation to that date due to lack of availability. That said, we would like to acknowledge that we should have communicated this more clearly and earlier in the process. This was an oversight on our part, and we sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.
Again, we are disappointed that we have not met your expectations. If you would prefer to cancel your April trip, we would be happy to provide a full refund. It is possible that our nonprofit travel model may not align with your needs, and we completely understand. There are several excellent commercial travel providers in The Villages that may be a better fit. For day trips and overnight tours, we recommend Workman Transportation and Lamers, and for cruises, AAA and Expedia—each of which offers a more traditional travel experience.
We hope this provides better clarity on what The Happening Travel Club represents and the unique role we serve as a nonprofit organization.
Sincerely,
Darren Loli

Poor communication and trip uncertainties
We haven’t left yet for our trip that we booked 9 months ago. We are scheduled to leave in about 2 weeks. We have received no information regarding trip details from the time HappeningOut is supposed to pick us up from the airport in Venice until the time a week later that they are supposed to get us to the cruise ship out of Rome. Three months ago when I spoke with them and made the final payment, I was told we would get the details in early February. It’s now March 10th and we still have no information. I called twice today to check on the status of the trip. HappeningOUT is now filtering calls through a call center in India. The first person I spoke with said he would call back in a few minutes. Over an hour later I called to check on what is going on. The different person I spoke to from the call center said he will find out what is going on and call me back. I do not have confidence in this company. The cruise was booked by them just fine. But it appears they have done nothing else but take my money. I’m disappointed and regardless of how the trip turns out, I simply cannot recommend HappeningOUT due to their poor customer service and communication.
Response from Happening Travel ClubAug 20, 2026
Thank you for taking the time to explain what happened. We completely understand your frustration, especially with your departure approaching and still not having the information you were expecting about airport transfers, accommodations, and getting to the cruise in Rome. This is not the level of communication or confidence we want any traveler to experience, and we're sorry we fell short here. Your concerns are valid, and we appreciate you bringing them to our attention so the situation can be addressed. We hope we're able to restore your confidence and give you the organized, well-supported experience you expected from the beginning.

Very positive experience
Very respectful to everyone on bus
Gave us on the instructions and information we needed to get the most from the trip they didn't just dump off like other travel clubs do
I feel cared for
Response from Happening Travel ClubAug 20, 2026
Thank you for sharing this with us. We're especially glad you felt cared for throughout the trip. Our goal is to make sure travelers have the information, guidance, and personal attention they need to truly enjoy the experience, rather than simply being dropped off and left to figure things out on their own. Knowing our team treated everyone with respect and helped you get the most from your day means a lot. We hope to have you traveling with us again soon!

Clearwater sand sculpture trip…
Clearwater sand sculpture trip 11/22/2025. The Workman bus was unbearable. Sat near back and the smell was permeating for the two hours we sat on a full bus. Toilet door didn’t close, loud speaker not working, window shades broken or non existent, nonexistent air conditioning while sun beats in, seats broken and arm rest also broken on more than one seat, and went a half hour out of our way due to driver miscommunication. Trade winds is not a luxury facility. Not a nice restaurant in sight with air conditioning and a sit down menus. Ended up at one of two options. Both light on air conditioning. No bathroom at the taco restaurant. Had to walk a block away to wash my hands. Worry about those handlers of food! The tacos were awful. This was a first time…a try out trip. Does not bode well for future trips.
Response from Happening Travel ClubAug 20, 2026
Thank you for taking the time to give us such detailed feedback. We're genuinely sorry that your Clearwater Sand Sculpture trip fell so far short of the experience you expected, particularly with the condition of the bus, lack of effective air conditioning, broken features, restroom door, and the communication issue that added unnecessary travel time. We also hear your concerns about the restaurant options and understand how disappointing the overall experience was, especially since this was your first trip with us. These are not the standards we want associated with Happening Travel Club, and your comments give us important areas to address with our transportation and trip partners. We appreciate you giving us a try and hope we have the opportunity to earn back your confidence on a future trip.
