Not recommended for anyone looking for prescription glasses
I am a professional illustrator and I work 8+ hours a day in front of a Cintiq monitor. I chose to go with Gunnar at the recommendation of a colleague when I was looking for a solution to eye strain due my line of work. I placed my order in July of 2021 and when I received them in August 2021, my vision was blurry as soon as I tried them on. So I opened a support ticket to get confirmation on the prescription that was used on my order. While waiting for the reply to my support ticket, I took my new Gunnar glasses to my optometrist to have a look at them. The optometrist tested the lenses and discovered that one lens axis was off by 100 degrees. The PD on my Gunnar glasses also read as 60, when it should be 56. My optometrist also performed a blue light test. My Gunnar pair I received did not block any blue light. The blue light through the Gunnar lens looked the same through a clear lens. Eventually I spoke with with Mrs. Ades from Gunnar's warranty department over the phone about the issue. She confirmed that the axis was in fact off and was input into their system incorrectly. When I informed her about the PD being off, as discovered by my optometrist, Mrs. Ades indicated that was because the frames I recieved were too big for a PD of 56. She indicated that a PD of 56 was "like a child's head", which I do have a small head. I asked for a full refund but she said that wasn't possible. So instead I asked if the replacement pair could be made into a smaller frame to accommodate my PD number. Mrs. Ades assured me that Gunnar could accommodate this request. She also assured me that a blue-light test for my new pair of glasses would be provided on request as indicated in my warranty claim. I filled out my warranty form as Mrs. Ades instructed: I was to fill out the form and submit it online, then print a copy and include it in the return parcel. I used a highlighter marker to indicate the style of the new, smaller frames for the replacement as well as my request for a blue light test. It's now October 2021 and my replacement pair just arrived. Unfortunately, I am extremely disappointed. While the lens degree has been fixed, the assurances from Mrs. Ades that the replacement would be created in a smaller frame was not honoured. The glasses are still too big for my head and so the progressive lens is a challenge to wear. In addition, the lenses awkwardly protrude from the frame and I received no blue light filter report. These interactions over the past 3 months have left a terrible impression of this company. Gunnar frames are probably great for anyone without the need for prescription lenses. But if you do need a prescription? Skip these guys. There are better options out there.
