Providers abandon the patients leaving…
Providers abandon the patients leaving you with no medication plan and they still charge for the session. We have contacted them for help and no one responds.

Grow is a mental health platform built to enable progress — connecting people with thousands of qualified therapists vetted across specialties, identities, and lived experiences, covered by insurance. We didn't begin with a theory about the market. We began with someone trying to help someone they loved, with the realization that when someone you care about needs mental health support, the system can feel cold, confusing, expensive, and built to wear people down. So we built something better to help people find care they can afford, stay with, and actually feel supported by — care that doesn't just work, but makes progress possible. We are not only for crisis. We are for all the moments when someone decides they want more: more support, more clarity, more tools. Because our goal isn't just to help people feel better — it's to help people achieve their goals in life. That starts with finding the right therapist, which is why we make it easy to search by specialty, language, cultural background, and identity, with care covered by insurance, appointments available in as little as 2 days, and most clients paying around $21 per session. Many pay $0, and self-pay and sliding scale options are also available. We are committed to a mental health experience that's easier to begin, more affordable to maintain, and grounded in trust — rethinking not just how people access care, but how care feels, because life doesn't pause between sessions, and with Grow, support doesn't either. So far, 15 million sessions have started on Grow, each one a step forward for someone, somewhere, building the life they've always wanted. With 220M lives covered, appointments offered virtually or in-person, including evenings and weekends, and clear cost estimates with no subscriptions to worry about, it's no surprise that 80%+ of Grow clients report feeling better after starting therapy. I’ve tried to find multiple therapists using this app. The first cancelled the day before our appointment because she claimed we weren’t a good fit. I found another therapist, but was unable to attend our first appointment because I was being admitted to the hospital. She charged me $75. The costs associated with this app are incredibly burdensome and I will never use it again.

Had my first visit scheduled with a therapist I thought would fit my needs. I filled out the before questionnaire clearly stating why I was seeking out therapy and that I was currently off of my medication. When we started the telehealth session, the therapist didn't introduce herself or give any sort of kind or meaningful introduction. It already felt very impersonal and unwelcoming. Once I again relayed that I wasn't on medication and going through a hard time, she immediately told me she couldn't work with me for ethical reasons. She talked to me for 10 minutes (I was paying out-of-pocket for a 45-minute session) and wasn't helpful, therapeutic, or welcoming. I would have been fine if she would have at least offered to let me just vent, since I was really needing to just talk with someone, but she immediately dismissed me and cancelled the session. I have a very busy work schedule and telehealth seemed like such a convenient and nice option, but I am completely disappointed and defeated after that initial session.

Grow therapy has billed me for multiple sessions that I showed up for and my therapist did not. I have contacted their billing department many times and heard nothing back. I even tried to cancel through my card, but the payment still went through, so now having to deal with turning them in for fraudulent charges. Still no word back. I definitely do not recommend this service as they are very expensive and provide zero customer support.

Customer service emailed me saying my insurance claim was pending. I called my insurance directly and they said they have zero record of getting billed by Grow. Grow has been repeatedly sending me bills in the mail for inane amounts like $400, $600, $700 for SINGLE sessions. Even though they have not even attempted to bill my insurance. I already left a previous review about their services as providers and this is extension of that review because I am STILL having issues with billing that need to be resolved.

This is a bait and switch. I searched providers on psychology today and then grow therapy took over my search. The information available was misleading and I scheduled with a provider who did not specialize in my area of concern. It was a waste of time and money. Watch out for these tech companies hijacking mental health services.

First appt with psychologist and they were already making assessments of my mental health and dismissing my issues. Made me feel like they didn’t want me as a client but didn’t give any advice on who I should move to if they didn’t want me. Cancelled my next appointment after it was made and no cancellation notice was provided. This service was very confusing and ultimately just rude. Find an alternate site.
