Hi Ayumi, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate you sharing a few words with us.

Grow is a mental health platform built to enable progress — connecting people with thousands of qualified therapists vetted across specialties, identities, and lived experiences, covered by insurance. We didn't begin with a theory about the market. We began with someone trying to help someone they loved, with the realization that when someone you care about needs mental health support, the system can feel cold, confusing, expensive, and built to wear people down. So we built something better to help people find care they can afford, stay with, and actually feel supported by — care that doesn't just work, but makes progress possible. We are not only for crisis. We are for all the moments when someone decides they want more: more support, more clarity, more tools. Because our goal isn't just to help people feel better — it's to help people achieve their goals in life. That starts with finding the right therapist, which is why we make it easy to search by specialty, language, cultural background, and identity, with care covered by insurance, appointments available in as little as 2 days, and most clients paying around $21 per session. Many pay $0, and self-pay and sliding scale options are also available. We are committed to a mental health experience that's easier to begin, more affordable to maintain, and grounded in trust — rethinking not just how people access care, but how care feels, because life doesn't pause between sessions, and with Grow, support doesn't either. So far, 15 million sessions have started on Grow, each one a step forward for someone, somewhere, building the life they've always wanted. With 220M lives covered, appointments offered virtually or in-person, including evenings and weekends, and clear cost estimates with no subscriptions to worry about, it's no surprise that 80%+ of Grow clients report feeling better after starting therapy. Awful. Absolutely awful. First, they don't list all of a therapist's time slots. For example, a therapist is available at 6 pm EST, but it's not listed on their site. Also, I have been put through a complete nightmare. Both my personal therapist and couples counselor sessions were canceled completely. I was provided with no reason as to why my personal therapist sessions were canceled and didn't hear from her for a week. My couples counselor had to go out of her way to resolve this issue (we were both told/emailed about an insurance change, when neither of us changed anything about our insurance), which she didn't have to do. I tried calling them and had to deal with a bot that just gave me the runaround. I am very, very dissatisfied with the way their company is run and will be looking into other arrangements for therapy. I myself am a therapist (I work in ABA), and our Ethics Code makes this kind of treatment unethical. There is a discharge process that supervisors put into place when they start with a client. They should be ashamed of themselves for the crap you are okay with putting people through...especially people who need therapeutic services.

Loved my counselor but Grow Therapy is not a counselor - they are an administrative platform - billing/claims/scheduling. They are awful. I left my counselor because of their billing/claims processing issues. This is a platform for virtual counseling - they are not the counselors but a billing platform. I'm rating their billing system and account management. They have made a mess of my billing and have overcharged me - waiting on refunds. Do not use this platform for mental health visits! I had EAP visits - they billed my insurance. My visits were all the same length but they billed different lengths/CPT codes and blamed it on the counselor (who has nothing to do with billing). They do not call you back. Instead they 'message' you at their convenience and close tickets if you do not login to read the messages right away. They had all my paperwork, including EAP submission numbers as well as my insurance. I was very clear about what codes needed to be used for specific dates. They just don't get it - waiting on refunds from them. GO ELSEWHERE!! This place will increase your anxiety.

I have been paneled with Grow Therapy for over two years, during which time I have experienced repeated, serious issues that have now resulted in harm to my clients, disruption to my practice, and significant financial loss. First, Grow Therapy requested access to my Psychology Today profile to "market on my behalf." After providing temporary access, Grow changed both my login and password without my permission. It took weeks of back-and-forth communication before I regained control of my own professional profile. More recently, in August, Grow requested my CAQH login credentials to assist with insurance paneling. Given my prior experience, I was hesitant to provide this information. However, because I am credentialed across three states and multiple insurance companies, the alternative process Grow offered was extremely burdensome. I reluctantly provided my username and password during the third week of August. On September 2nd, I received an unexpected email from Grow stating that my account would be deactivated effective August 31st. I immediately escalated the issue to their customer service “bot”, but received little to no meaningful response from their customer service team or AI chat system. Grow proceeded to deactivate my account without explanation. As a result, I have been completely unable to communicate with my clients for over two weeks. I have missed scheduled sessions, lost income, and have no access to client contact information because all communication is housed within Grow’s platform. My clients likely believe I abandoned their care, which is deeply distressing and professionally damaging. Grow continues to send me automated emails asking why I missed sessions and has contacted my clients directly to assist them in finding new providers. Additionally, I have been unable to document or bill for several sessions completed at the end of August. This pattern of poor customer service, unethical handling of provider accounts, unauthorized access and modification of login credentials, and failure to respond to urgent escalations has caused significant harm to my clients’ mental well-being, my professional reputation, and my financial stability. **Grow responded, asking for additional information, but has still never provided me the courtesy of a phone call or a proper explanation. They are not committed to providers or their clients.

I’ve had several therapist and none as unprofessional as Louis Flohr. This man didn’t introduce himself, he didn’t hid his biases and he even said that he’s going to side with my spouse with less than 5 minutes of conversation. I’m not sure how this guy even has a license! 10 out of 10 I DO NOT RECOMMEND for anyone who is serious about getting help for their marriage.

Provider experience is great but the user interface if you have problems is very lacking. It will do whatever necessary to prevent you from accessing live support when you need it. The default messaging app streams you into a multiple choice question/answer format with no text window to further explain the issue. I have never seen anything like this being forced on a client.
Response from Grow TherapySep 15, 2026
Hi Linda, We understand how difficulties connecting with support can affect the overall experience. We'd like to better understand what occurred and have requested more information via Trustpilot. We appreciate your perspective and look forward to your response.

Help isn’t helpful. I’m so frustrated trying to get an appointment set up for my daughter now I’m needing therapy. I keep getting txt messages to fill out this for or else. WTF??? No where and I’ve looked, it’s impossible to get a human for help. Isn’t this ridiculous for a mental health site?? I suppose I’ll have to find an alternative as this site is helpless helplessly helpless. Specifically… I submitted my insurance. Apparently coverage for this isn’t included. I’m find to just pay out of pocket. The app kept flagging my insurance didn’t cover, didn’t take me anywhere to resolve this. Additionally, there was nothing in help, no mechanism, no phone number to resolve this. The error messages clearly indicate negative consequences if not resolved quickly. So, the therapy company has a system that doesn’t allow resolution of the problem. It reinforces negative consequences over and over. Ironically this is the sort of anxiety engine therapy would aim to relieve. I hope thus clarification helps the company improve its booking service which is pathetic in my opinion.
